What Game Made You Feel the Most Emotional?

starcraft music is nostalgia for me

I remember I was on Accutane, so to begin with I was emotionally unstable.

Emotionally unstable on accutane? I mean, I've heard it can have emotionally adverse effects, but you're the first I've heard to have had any.

Any way, I think the game I had the strongest emotional connection to was KOTOR. Specifically with Bastila. She had both positive and negative qualities, but that's what made her seem human. She was always quite capable of inspiring amusement, annoyance, and sympathy from me. I was actually angry when Malak turned her.

If you want fear, it would have to be Condemned, especially towards the end. The house with the writing on the walls is the only environment in a game where I never felt safe once. I remember going into the attic area, hearing the rattling of chains, and without any kind of cliched, suspenseful warning, had a demon kicking the shit out of my face.

Sadness? Probably Kerrigan from StarCraft. Mixed with hatred, mind you. But she is a tragic character. There were brief moments with Raynor in which I thought I found slivers of her former humanity and compassion. Unfortunately, they were buried under mounds of treachery, arrogance, and bloodlust.

Accutane has been linked to suicide in a lot of patients.....

Patients isn't the right word......individuals taking the medicine

I'm on it right now actually. Have been for about 3 weeks now and they only side effect I've had is the stupidly chapped lips.

And the links to emotional instability are mostly conjecture. Theres no hard evidence.

Call of Duty was all about the music. Valve should learn something about a more emotional score.

Emotional scores are worthless with a franchise as vacant as Call of Duty.

Besides, I think the HL series' soundtrack has been fit for the job. Adrenalized, alien, cold.

Yes... and you're the first person on it who I've ever seen state they were emotionally affected by it.

I take it. Then again, there was a period where it may have played into my emotional state as well, but there were a lot of other negative factors as well. I was told that if the drug was having any effect at all, it was far from the root of my problems.

Wrist Cutters 2004 was pretty emotional.

Actually, thief 2 is emotional for me. Mostly because I never remember to save.

Final Fantasy 7. I still get choked up when I hear Aeris' Theme :(

More recently, Gears of War mutliplayer has had me both yelling profanities, hollering with joy and laughing my ass off, and I've only been playing for two days.

Haha, when it comes to yelling profanities, Half Life 1 Crowbar tag with a 4 man Lan. I really can't remember having more fun playing a video game ever.

I just got finished playing Yahoo Pool with a friend of mine... and my god was it sooo emotional! I was soo angry the whole time. I actually got my pride hurt when I lost. This usually doesn't happen with videogames!

Alice, as you began to realize the connection between real life and Wonderland. The end of Alien V. Predator and Halo are really the only ones where I felt any emotion above the elation of successfully reaching the end (for essentially the same reasons). All games give me some kind of emotional response, but these stories and the way they were portrayed gave me more.

Quake IV gets honorable mention for disgust when it occurs to you that you're encroaching up the guts of some enormous living thing. :x

KoTOR1, when they finally reveal the (Cannot mention as it is a huge spoiler. yep.) I walked around my room for 5 minutes contemplating how this could be true. Also, I usually mutter to myself while playing KoTOR(But I am going light side, so I dont get to do this much) Hm.. I wonder if I should cut this guy.. nah.. I can prolly force persuade some creds off him.. hmm.. oooh... Is that a 5-18 SWORD? SWEET!

UFO: Enemy Unknown is still the most frightening game ever.

-Angry Lawyer

amen brother, amen!

i was constantly afraid that my whole squad would be annihilated by a blaster launcher. lets not mention the crysalids...trully revolutionary game for its time

Ocarina of Time, when Sarah (I think that's her name, Link's friend in green hair) gives link the ocarina and they have to "part ways". At least I think that's what happens, it's been so long since I've played.

I remember one night I played through HL1 from start up until Xen, and by the time I got there, I felt bad for all of the scientists and Barneys that had been killed because of what I had done.

World of Warcraft

Warlocks make me want to SMASH.

SMASHHHHHHHHH ANYTHING.

NERF WARLOCKS LAKDKALkjgaklgag

Damn right. GoW has me either gnashing my teeth or whooping and air punching.

Grim Fandango- If your talking about that kind of emotion.

Anger? Well i pwn so much so...well sometimes i get pissed in CSS when things doesnt work out like its suppose to.

Operation Flashpoint for pure fear
Counterstrike for frustration, anger, stress and disgust - how I played that PoS for so long makes me ashamed :(

Counter-strike: source makes me angry a lot.

Oh the profanities that flow from my mouth when i play this game...

Also i guess, Halo 1 multiplayer with my brothers when i was younger, i seem to remember a lot of emotions being involved in that. Nothing like deathmatch with your siblings to get the blood boiling !

MGS3's ending for pure emotion (I cried).

and probabbbbly FFT for making me the most angry (I cried)

Metal Gear Solid 3, that ending was pretty sad, awesome though.

I'll say counter strike, because of some of the awesome moments I've had playing that game with my brother, they make up for the shitty ones.

**** you gate clan.

Sad: Metal Gear Solid 3 - The end of the game

Sad: Breath of Fire 3 (I think that was the game) - You start out the game as a kid with his dad, and then a bit later your dad dies, you get enslaved for 10 years, then escape, for a FFIII type game made in '92-'95 it was awesome.

Insirational: Call Of Duty 1 - Near the end when your the Russians retaking red square, and the you get to the top and your guy starts waving the flag..

Pissed: Star Wars: Republic Commando - When the hunter type guy at the end dies, he was my favorite!

Scared: Doom 3 - Jesus Christ, iD knows how to make you scared!

Scared: Alien Vs. Predator (Human Campaign) - Near the start you start pissing yourself, then you get used to killing aliens, so it's not so scary near the end..

I know there are more, but I can't think of them!

Crash Bandicoot really touched me emotionally, it was an emotional roller-coaster, with an experience that stays with me to this day.

I only get pissed off at games really. Pro Evolution, battlefield 2 = I exit game. It's not worth being angry, it's meant to be fun & when it's not I stop.

I do feel myself being a little scared playing clan wars in CS occasionally. Or playing a final in PES6 online. It's all very tense.

Grim Fandango - just about everything, right there.

Jagged Alliance series - laughing my head off at merc's jokes or crying when they die... especially if they get Buzz. If they get Buzz God help them, becuase no one else will. If she goes down I get sad and then go into "KILL THEM! KILL EVERY MOTHER ******* ONE OF THEM! I'LL MAKE 1000 FOLD HER BLOOD FLOW IN VENGENCE! DIE!" mode.

StarCraft: One of these days I'm going to get Mengsk and Kerrigan for what they did...

and many others besides...

Company of Heroes: Not many people react to this game, but it IS a game based off real events. My grandpa was also in WW2, so sometimes when I play, I realized people had to go through crap like that, friends dying around them...

Homeworld too, the beggining. That was emotional.

The ending of Unreal 2 definately affected me. I kept saying to myself, "This isn't happening, they can't do this to me!" I almost cried.

In SW: RC, that was Sev. Everyone is hoping that they will make a Star Wars: Imperial Commando :p!, And maybe Sev survives! PLEASE!

Okay:

Sad: SW: Republic Commando, When Sev dies, and the fact I never got to seea jedi in HD awesomeness. Graphics rocked in that game.

Bloodlust: GoW Multiplayer. Adrenaline started running. Only other game that that has happened to me was in HL2: Ep. 1.

Scared: HL2: Ep. 1. When in pitch black with grenade heaving zombies all over. Scared the crap out of, when I turned around and suddenly, there was a Zombine screaming right next to me.

Scared: Halo. First time you see flood. Never got past 343 Guilty spark in xbox version, did in pc though, till I played co-op with my friend. :)

Angry: Bionicle. Damned hard lava racing.

Funny: Atton Rand. KoTOR 2.

Fun Kill-fest: Saints Row. GTA: Vice City, Killing civilians was funner than I thought it was.

w00tfest: SW: Battlefront 2.
