I voted for Splinter Cell. HL is cool but I fear that it would be done totally wrong. MGS has some potential but I think most people wouldn't buy the whole Metal Gear mech stuff.

Splinter Cell is more promising because its more believable. They don't have over-the-top characters like some games.

On the other hand, a movie about the Combine invasion might work out. It'd have to be epic in scale and done really really really well.

i dont think Half Life would be a good movie because in the game you are gordon but if it was a movie everyone would want gordon to be how they think he is and MGS doesnt need to be a movie cause 3/4 of the game is just watching cinematics and ppl talk.

halo 1 and 2 and splinter cell all the way.

I'd like to see a couple movies made from the tabletop P&P games Vampire: The Masquerade, and Werewolf: The Apocalypse.

Would be so awesome if these films were to be done in such a great manner as the lord of the rings ones were done too, and not some cheap low budget filming project.

Dont get me wrong I really liked splinter cell's games. However I found the story to be a little to realistic. If they made it into a movie, I think it would be just like dozens we have already seen. I also would be willing to bet it wouldnt sell much.

I want drama, suspence. Something to keep you waiting for more, and on the edge of your seat. With twists/surprises in the story.

EX. MGS

If they did HL right, it also could be like that. One man trying to escape alive, while having to deal with aliens, and soldiers. Learning the story on the way up. Then having to choose to save the world by going to xen etc. THen another choice from the gman. Also dont forget to show the gman in several areas of the game.

Gordon meets up with barney, and other security gaurds/ scientists. Ofcourse the no name scientists/gaurds could be slaughtered by traps, soldiers, aliens, and/or anything they come up with.

There was rumor going around on some movie sites about Quentin Tarantino doing the Grand Theft Auto movie. That would own so much.
It really really wouldn't. It'd probably be no different to any other car heist movie, with the exception of raping a great feanchise.

A Half-Life film would be dire: Either you have a mute protagonist (rubbish) or it would desecrate the franchise by having Gordon making Arnie-esque wisecracks. Heads would roll...
The good thing about HL is that the series is telling a good, intriguing story surrounded by interesting characters and some exciting action via the medium of PC games. Story-telling needs to become a bigger part of games, because the format is destined to rival TV and films for presenting a tale, just in a totally unique way.

Games shouldn't be made into films, and very few films should be made into games (if at all). Leave the two separate and let games come into their own.

As for the prospect of Far Cry and Doom movies... :hmph:

Yeah but part of the fabulousness of Deus Ex was its freeform nature. A film completely loses that, and whilst it's an interesting cinematic universe and a clever plot, it simply wouldn't work.
Good game plots are stretched over a time of over 6 hours, say. Film's plots are condensed into about 2. The two don't transpose that well, without a lot of mutilation.
