What games do you remember from your childhood?

Hmm... Doom, Keen, Return to Zork, the 7th Guest, the QBasic Centepede and Gorilla games, Duke, the Learning Company's SuperSolver games (especially OutNumbered!), the (Even More) Incredible Machine, Amazon Trail, Word Muncher & Number Muncher, SMB+Duck Hunt, SMB3, Megaman 2. I remember some earlier ones but no way would I remember the names.

Anybody ever play Heart of Darkness? My first puzzle game, and it was FUN as shit. Got it for free when my friends computer couldn't run it, and he didn't know why. Ran fine on mine :D

Oh yeah, Heart of Darkness is a great game. It's a platformer, though, not a puzzle game. I remember it had more puzzle elements than most platformers.

It reminded me....that one game, where you're the goofy knight trying to save the princess from a dragon, and the game had random cartoon cut scenes where you get to determine which way to go/what to do. Big trial and error system.

O rite, Dragons Lair. Boy, I miss that game.

And that made me think of Toonstruck with Christopher Lloyd.

Goldeneye is probably the most prominent game in my childhood memories, although Mario, Duckhunt, and Diddy King Racing are standouts too.

Hmmm.

In order of rememberance...

1) DEUS EX

2) Red Alert/Red Alert 2

3) Half-Life

4) SPYRO THE DRAGON 2

5) Final Fantasy 8

6) Original Super Smash Brothers

7) Pokemon

8) Duke Nukem 3D/Doom/Jazz Jackrabbit/Tyran/Terminal Velocity (i played them all when I was like 6)

Spyro the Dragon 1, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario Allstars and pretty much Doom 1.

I wish I could remember playing Wolfenstein 3D, but all I remember of it was that it never worked, and the only thing I could play was some kind of Pong game that came with it.

Wolfenstein 3D, Fallout, Duke Nukem 3D, Sim City 2000, Cosmo...

One game that sticks out in my mind I can't remember the name of. It was some dodgy illegal porn game on the amiga. Frames from a porn movie had been stiched together and you had to waggle the joystick to make the guy **** the girl. Disgraceful, seedy, and the coolest thing ever when you're 13 and passing round pirated copies with your mates in the playground.

If we're talking a little more recently then Starcraft, Age of Empires, HL, Unreal, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart 64, older Mechwarrior games and the Pokemon gameboy games. I love that game to this day.

Random order:

PC:

before I had mine:

Baby Jo in Going Home

Nascar
Doom 2
bunch of Microsoft games
Alone in the Dark
Shadow of the Comet
Lion King
Alladin
Raptor (demo [or as they called it back then shareware], bought for 9,95 Guldens - wtf)
some adventure game with hedgehogs and yellow dragons (actually excavators lololol)

Gameboy:
Tetris (it was sooo boring back then)
Super Mario 2
68 in 1 :p

SNES:
Super Mario World
Super Mario Kart
Theme Park

and more... ;)

I think shadows of the empire was the first game I ever played. Either that or some spider man game for the original game boy.

The first game I played on my very first pc though, was Red Alert, and damn, was it a turning point in my life. Tomb Raider 2 also takes me back, and so does the Half Life Uplink demonstration. I must have played that thing more than a 100 times before I got Half Life.
