so i have a X850 pro AGP(OC'ed), a gig of RAMand i just bought a neo3 platimnum motherboard and a AMD 64 3000+ and im getting around 60-70fps in CSS with it. I got this FPS even before i got the new parts, when i had the x850 in my dell.... i even think i had the same FPS with my old 9800 pro....

what the hell is going on??

i used the windows xp install disk that came with my old dell that has dell crap still on it......is something on that cd limiting the FPS?
and im also using some other parts from my old dell but i dont think they are influencing this....

please help

Interesting problem. Did you go into the BIOS to make sure you have the best settings for your graphics card and chipset?

well your settings might have been turned up alot to utilize the x850 like higher res. or AA and AF

Um yea you're probably just playing on higher settings

VSYNC would limit your frames to around 60-70fps... you've probably tried it, but if not turn that off :D

Other than that, I don't know. You've a decent processor, it's not going to be CPU limiting

What settings exactly do you play on ? And what are the settings in the sti control panel set at (the 3D options) ?

um i play at 1024x768 with everything on high in source......

is 1024x768 your max resolution for your monitor? if it isnt turn it up to the max because if you use lower resolution with a powerful gfx card it can put stress on the cpu

^ weird...
That's what I was thinking..never heard of that. I heard different res from the desktop caused frameloss..but yeah, I've never seen any study or examples to prove this stuff...maybe that's what I'll do...

nah.

What level of anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering do you use ?
