What happened here?

Well Ive been visiting this site for over a year watching for news of the game. Havnt posted much because I havnt had much to say.

Now that the game is out this place is full of ad banners. I know it costs to get the bandwidth but sheeesh!

My real bitch is that as soon as I opened a particular thread, a little app called "bla.exe" installed itself on my c drive. I know for a fact that it came from there after looking at the file properties. I wouldnt have known it was there if my firewall hadnt cought it trying to call home. Saved the file in my trash in case an admin wants to see it.

Did this come from the site or is someone putting nasty code in their sig? I aint happy.

Hmmm. I'd suggest you PM Munro with as many details as you can get. This is not good. We don't allow malicious code in sigs: it simply doesn't work.

Grrr getting the blank white screen when I try to PM. I read the sticky and will try to fix my firewall settings. Meanwhile, can a moderator check into this? The app installed itself again!

It wont have come from the site, possibly from a rouge ad, possibly not even from here and its spyware on your machine doing it.. But contact those above ASAP with as much details as you can.

From what I know about our ads (not much I admit), that isn't really possible. I'd assume it's what TDE said about it being spyware from somewhere else is true.

Feel free to email me (starmonkey@ this domain ) any extra details which would help pinpoint it - if it is from our ads then I'll immediately take them down until we find out which ad it was and why it was happening.
