Remember that thing that was announced at GDC 09? Why is nobody talking about it anymore?

Because it was an announcement of a product in development that hasn't actually released yet?

or most likely failed once they realized it's not usable unless you have a direct optic line to their servers.

OnLive failed to really gain any anticipation from the gaming world. There were far to many question marks on how it would work and most people are already predicting it will fail.

Actually they had an article about it in the latest PC World or PC Gamer i believe, cant remember which. They said they are very positive about it and things are going as planned.

Can someone give me the short version of what it is? Gaming console? PC?

it's like 3do for internet.

It's suppose to be a service that let's people play PC games as though they had high end systems by "somehow" streaming the game content to them. Like youtube and so many sites do with videos.

It is magic1

They realised their goal was impossible. The internet just isn't fast enough to provide a framerate of 20 and quickly respond to keyboard/mouse input. Also, if it were possible you would need a very(like VERY) fast connection to get reasonable resolutions.

I know I wouldn't, if I'm going to play games legally, I want to actually own them, not renting or some shit, if I'm gonna do that, I might as well acquire them illegally..
