What ideology do you believe would work the best?

How about you read up on history, read why communism was invented, read why it became so popular, and read my first post in this thread.

Hmm yeh - communism, has brought so much happiness, to so many people, where do we start with all this love and happiness that Communism has brought us?

1. Stalin's Russia - what a great place to live? Why more people from the West did not defect there after world war II, I'll never know. And then the Soviet Union following WW2, which forcibly enlightened most of Eastern Europe. And didn't the people in Eastern Europ *love* communism? Needed to send a few tanks in now and again and kill some of the traitorous capitalist splitters from time to time like in 1956 in Hungary. But you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs?

2. North Korea! Fun for all the family in this haven of the workers paradise. Book your tour today! See how communism has led to a fantastic standard of living and happiness for millions of North Korea. See how millions of South Koreans every year, defect into the North, trying to enter the workers paradise.

3. China! Yay - Maos Cultural Revolution was such a lot of fun. In more recent times we had the PLA in 1989 ordered to massacre democracy demonstrators. Now, the Beijing Central government has abandoned communist economics, opting more for a pure capitalism model. But its, capitalism with the backing of firing squads and the PLA! So still communism in the practical sense.

4. Cambodia - Who can forget the joy that Pol Pot brought to the people of this region. Had to kill 2 million of the 'naysayers' tho. But then the less hardcore commies the Vietnamese had to ruin the party and invade! Makes you wonder who really supports the cause these days, Stalin would be spinning in his grave.

So heres to you, communism, no1 philosophy has brought so much happiness around the world, to so many people.

To be fair, when people on this thread mentioned Communism, they usually reffered to it in a good light "on paper". Everyone knows that Communism put into practice has created some awfull Governments, but I believe the main points you raised are more a problem with the Dictatorship side of Communism. Everything you have talked about could easily have and has been done under any tyranical system, regardless of its political leanings.

if you ask me, the most forfilling and benifactual ideaology is what they have conceptualised for earth in star trek, although science fiction, its a representation of more evolved sensiblities and understanding for fellow man.. Its the only real ideaology that doesnt breed immense ammounts of egocentrisim, It allows full nuturing and developement of the human race without any solid status quo that try to hold onto past ideal's. with any kind of capitalisim there will foreseably always be poverty, simply caused by people who want/think they are better than everyone else. Not always the case, Its at the core of mentality, real idealistic society's like perhaps in star trek would occur if abundance of energy and new technology ushered in a new era, going on to force the majority realisation of working for the benifit of human kind, rather than oneself's interest's as the main priority.

Im sure society's like in star trek can be created, with the right kind of thinking and real driving passion for bettering ourselves as a whole. It will require mental evolution perhaps, but I believe that we are capable of being that harmonious, and it would be benifactual for our soul, simplifying life, which in many cases is always proven to be a happier one.

its not society that has to change, it's our mentality, social changes then follow.

Im not sure if this is an ideology, or, a TV SHOW PEOPLE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! heh just kidding.

But even Star Trek had its darker side - rememebr the Federations section whatever it was, that could do whatever was necessary to protect the Federation? Sounds like a lot of scary orgs around the globe.

Communism looks bad even on paper. I don't understand how people can say this. Honestly looking at the plans it's horrible, and in practice these things are shown.

And as for Robocratic Theocracy, we all saw how good that can be in the movie (not really like the book, I know, but still) I, Robot.

It's simple. The people who say this have no idea what communism really is, so they say it out of ignorance. What they percieve communism on paper to be is "Everyone has enough of everything they need and everyone is happy".

What would truly be scary is if they actually understood communism and then said "it looks good on paper".

You know nothing about how communism looks on paper. The Communist Manifesto is how it looks on paper, until you've read it you do not understand Communism. Don't pretend to.

And Robocratic Theocracy was a joke.

Not only have I read it multiple times, I own a copy of it as well as several books written on analyzing it and it's motives. So would you like to continue down this road?

actually i would, PM me with your thoughts on how it does not look good in the Manifest

Okay, capiyalism has killed million of people, look at at history, look at how many poeple died in europe en US because of unequal spread of wealth, look how many people die today in African capitalsitic countries, how many die in the middle east, how many die in south amerika. Pure capitalism is just as bad as pure communism.

Infact I'm willing to say it is much worse, simply cause there has not been any communistic country in the wolrd ever, they were a few in name, but they were never really communistc, just totalitarian regimes using that name to get power from teh people, but capitalism was implemented in it's purest form, and was the cause of a lot of deaths.
