I don't see a problem with halal food being served in itself. If that's your biggest problem with the school, you're really clutching at straws.

I don't believe anyone is calling Christmas "the festival of lights" (Indeed I think you are getting Christmas confused with Diwali... maybe you should go and learn a bit about Christmas?)

Gordon may not be as well presented as Tony Blair, but he's not exactly untidy... you should be more worried about his policies, you need to reconsider your priorities.

So, essentially, a lot of 'political correctness gone mad' rubbish? And yes, most of it is rubbish, taken from Daily Mail headlines from the 80s amd passed on through word of mouth, still hanging around to the present day. The majority of news stories reporting that, say, rhymes need to be changed, or festivals renamed, or firework displays rebranded in order to please whoever grossly exaggerate or distort the facts. Where some tinpot councillor on a local authority suggests 'hey maybe we should rename christmas', prompting everyone else to shout "NO!", newspapers - especially in the 80s with labour under Michael "loony left" Foot - would report "Labour Council renames Christmas." Totally misleading, knowingly slanderous.

A good example would be this thread. Note how a load of rubbish about immigrants forcing us to celebrate their wacky festivals is bolted on to a story about a council who do something strange for the 5th November every single year. Note how, later, one single MP suggesting bonfires should be cut down to help the environment turns into "THEY ALL WANT IT BANNED".

The vast majority of 'political correctness gone mad' stories are bullshit. If you want to argue against multiculturalism, aim at real targets, not straw men.

In the 'muslim toilets' story, a spokesman said: "The money spent [on toilets] did not affect the overall cost of the refurbishment programme." I don't think it's that big an issue. Similarly, a halal diet is hardly shocking stuff.

EDIT: I would also add that much as I dislike the current Labour administration I think they have managed the transition from an industrial economy to a service economy - a change started but never finished by Thatcher - fairly successfully. There are problems, but it's hardly an economic recession we're in.

multi-cultural is rubbish..this is the homeland of british people..to be honest..going by the birth rate of most ethnic populations...british people 100% british people (i dont include myself) will be in the minority in their own homeland in 50 years time... and that is a fact.

so if you have a problem with it now...speak..as at the rate of illigal immigration..compared to white flight...1500/1000 per week ..thats uneducated with no prospects of anything but begging for handouts..compared to british educated..good prospects.. this country will become a little asia..im half persian myslef. but i think britain is the best country in the world, my kids are brought up to be proud of who and what they are BRITISH. F anyone else and their shame of britain and its culture. if polititions are ashamed of thier culture and history razorblades are very cheap and they would make the world a lot easier and even help cut donw on these green house gasses if they just got it over with.

this country used to be the light in the world..industy,innovation..now its laughed at. i have an aussie freind he comes over every 3 or four years..freind from childhood. each time he comes over he is seriously shocked. he doesnt even recognise london anymore. he said wtf..this aint the uk no more. they put more emphasis on keeping ethnics happy than looking after the state of the union..the bbc still thinks mocking welsh,scots,irish is fun, but wont ever mock the english or any non white minority.
