Can someone tell me what is left 4 dead?? Is something like half life???

Everything you need to know is in our content section: http://www.halflife2.net/left-4-dead

Check the links down the side. L4D isn't connected to Half-life but is produced by Valve Software (makers of Half-life). The game is a zombie survival game which you play online with 3 other friends, in a co-op storyline.

The demo is free on Steam at the moment, you can try the game till Tuesday 18th when actual game is released.

Ok so it is myltiplayer game right?? Can someone tell me some servers of this game?

You can play Singleplayer but it's defiantly more enjoyable in Multiplayer - you play the same Campaign, just with 3 other real people instead of AI.

You can play single player through the storyline if you like. But it's much more fun playing online with friends.

Read what I posted again. It's a storyline but you play through the story online with other people. Co-op? Get it yet?

Download the demo from Steam (it's free) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/530/ When you load up the game click 'quick game' and it will connect you to a server automatically.

Don't bother asking about "servers". When you download and install the game you'll see what Valve's "matchmaking" service is all about. It's incredibly useful for hooking up with friends before you start a game. It's also incredibly simple to use.

I'd recommend playing with friends over strangers.

Yeah, it's all very easy, especially if you have enough friends on your Steam list. Still curious about the whole server thing though.

Such asking for servers when the game isn't even out is reeeally strange, isn't it? :hmph:

/thread title....

A damn awesome Multiplayer Zombie Survival Co-op Source game from Valve which you definatley need to buy.

To be brief.

This guy never heard of Wikipedia?

First place I check when I want to know something.
I think the last thing I looked into was why some lobsters are born blue.

It's a single player game where you fight only 4 zombies in the entire game. A lot of fun.

I was wondering this myself. This game should be very easily locally hosted, like an RTS game, wouldn't it?

As Valve have said, not really. The server has to do a lot more work because of the AI Director.

I have a pretty clumsy ADSL connection, I managed to host a playable 4 player coop session as a listen server (local), two people got fairly decent connections but one had things a bit choppy, its luck of the draw i think.

The matchmaking will get better, I understand they wanna connect it up to communities so server operators can run steam groups connecting to their L4D servers, and players can subscribe to those servers specificly. The server browser ingame is ok if you know what your doing, at the moment it gets confused by some of the tags and splits the list into the custom tab and the main tab, they said some updates to the system are due shortly after release.

its a filthy dirty lie!

BEHOLD!
