Will HL:S just be all the old stuff thrown into the new engine or new updated textures and models ect?

It's just all the old, thrown in with the new. This basically means the main differences you'll notice are physics/ragdolls, dynamic lights, shadows and other advanced shader effects.

Not to mention the Source engine allows for 100x the previous amount of polygons. No more blocky scientists.

The scientists are likely to use the same models as they did in HL1. But yeah, the limits will all be pumped up so HL:Source could easily be modded to be a full overhaul.

No the physics have there own invisible hull, similar to a hitbox.

Im hoping they beef up the AI a bit, at least for general combat, i know the advanced stuff relies on hint nodes, but i think they could improve on a few things.. maybe.
 
i probably wouldnt even care if there was updated versions of the models but they were still all the same

i think that would be better..... :bounce:

They don't directly, but valve have siad there will be conversion tools. Whether its advanced anough to make old models ragdoll I don't know, but they may be able to.

Either way, there are bound to be models made by third partys for use, not to mention new textures.

Initially I expect it to look almost identical to old HL with the addition of the dynamics lights and things (as Chris_D said) and then slowly get better with new models and thing.
