what is steam downloading now?

I expected some downloads yesterday, but even as i speak, steam is downloading something else. I have no way to know what it's downloading, and wonder how often this will happen? I kinda like to know what i'm downloading.. i have a phone modem(ick) and i'd sure like to know what it is and if it will continue?
