What is that black tower thing?

in previews, ive seen that big black tower in every level. what significance does it have to anything? does anyonw know or will we just have to wait for the game to come out to find out ourselfs?

It is the combine citadel. It is where Dr Breen's administration is situated, and it's slowly "eating" its way through city 17.

The guy from Half-Life and Blue Shift was Barney (He got himself a last name in Blueshift, Calhoun), in Opposing Force there were both Barney and Otis.
