What is the best song in the world? The king of all songs. The Master Song. What ever it is, I would like to know so I can listen to it.

Arg you know its all going to be opinion. I'm not going to even bother what I think is because I know that it will change and a month from now I will like something else much better. Plus, somebody else will say "No that song's horrible!". :|

Surely there is a song that combines all the elements of music perfectly into one. The Greatest Song. I must know the best song in the world! It can be from any time period or could be from recent times. I must know!

I think the closest we'll ever come is Tenacious D's Tribute To the Best Song In the World.

Lol! I was listening to that when I posted! But like Jack said, that is just a tribute. It is not the real best song.

So you say the tribute to the best song in the world is the greatest song in the world... weird

it could just be a bizarre subconcious co-incident, or a conspiracy

What if Tribute is in fact the best song in the world, and Jack is simply performing a tribute to himself?

Well he did say he and his friend Kyle played the best song in the world for a demon who wanted to eat their souls if they didn't play the best song. But after they did they forgot about it. It is therefore the best song in the world because he would be dead now if it wasn't. But what was it?

Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby.....

Janis Joplin - Piece of my Heart

Pearl Jam - Yellow Ledbetter

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit

Animals - House of the Rising Sun

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb

Supertramp - The Logical Song

John Lennon - Imagine

The Pixies - Where is my Mind?

Ludwig van Beethoven - Piano Sonata No. 14 in C sharp minor ('Moonlight'), Op. 27/2: Adagio sostenuto

Wtf how can Vanilla Ice be on there. No none of those are worthy of the best song in the world, even Pink Floyd who I love do not have the best song in the world. Beethoven gets close but he has not mastered all the musical elements. The greatest song in the world may not even exist yet, perhaps it does, but one thing is sure, when you listen to this song (if you are lucky enough to), it will change your life forever.

So far Tribute is winning as the best song, but it isn't the best song in the world because it is just a ****in tribute. Dammit I want that song!

Haha, my sentiments exactly!

Not to mention, Vanilla Ice plagiarized the melody from another artist...

Tribute fails. There is no Greatest Song in the world, only in your opinion. And in my opinion? I do not know.

The Pixies - Where is my Mind?

James Brown - Sex Machine

Edited for accuracy :P

There can not be a best song in the history of our world - however I'd move for:

Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love
:)

Personally, I'd go for

Dayvan Comboy by Boards of Canada

Pink Floyd - Shine on You Crazy Diamond (All 7 Parts)

It goes through so many instrument changes, it has to be the best

song huh? as opposed to a piece of music?
If those are the rules then it would have to be La Marseillaise - damn the French for having the only awesome national anthem

Metallica - Master Of Puppets

Awesome song lol

Well you said the "Master" song!!

i dont have a favourite. i may have favourites in different genres and the absolute best in conveying a particular feel, but i can't really decide between them.

VENETIAN SNARES

A GIANT ALIEN FORCE MORE vIOLENT AND SICK THAN ANYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE

I'm only half serious.

Steve Reich - Music for 18 Musicians perhaps?

I don't like the subjectivity of this thread.

I always thought that Stairway to Heaven by Led Zepplin was considered the best song ever made, just like Citizen Kane is considered to be the best movie ever made.

Well I don't know the best song but I do know the most famous and played song, it's "Hey Joe" by Jimmy Hendrix.
