What is the G for in G-Man?

Government. The name 'G-man' isnt a un unique one. Basically if you work for the government you are nick named 'A G-man'
 
I take it none of you know of the old 1950 movies about G-men.

Government or Geraldo. I'm betting VALVe spent a good two minutes thinking of what to name the model and that's what they came up with.
 
Government, even Gabe responded to an email about G-Man, and refered to him once as Government man. Yeah.
 
The term "G-Man" is short for "Government Man". Federal agents (FBI), and other branch agents, were nicknamed "G-Men" or "G-Man" by Machinegun Kelly during the times of mobsters and gangsters (20s and 30s).

Why is the G-Man called "G-Man"? *shrugs* Because he's a government man? I don't know. lol

Any way, "G-Man" means "Government Man". Go ahead and look it up. I wouldn't look too deeply into the title though.

And, again, I must ponder why the endless G-Man topics never get any flak.
