What is your favorite Doom monster?

I left out some enemies because they were either similar to other monsters, or in the case of the Spider Mastermind, were of short supply. My favorite (if you haven't guessed because of my avatar) is the Cacodemon!

The Cyberdemon is arguably one of the best enemies of all-time.

But if I had to pick, I would go with the Arch-Vile, because he is so tough. What with the incinerating and the raising of the dead, he was so hard to beat, thus a great enemy.

I'll never forget the sound it made.

I don't see how you could include the Hell Knight over the Baron of Hell. The Baron was the original. The Knight was the lazy rip off. And the Lost Souls were definately original!

Anyway, I'll go with Baphomet.

I didn't have enough room, and besides, hell knights are the ones that are in Doom 3. I wanted to put lost souls in, but there wasn't enough room. Hell Knight is shorter to type than Baron of Hell anyways.

I'm surprised that no one has picked the Revenant yet. His seeking missiles were a pain to avoid. It's probably because he looked like he was drunk half the time (I thought he was dancing towards me).

I owned the Shareware version when I was younger, and the Shadow demons scared me. I could here them, but could never see them because my monitor was so dark. Good times.

The first time I played the full version of doom as a young lad, it was great. But I remember one experience in the Tower Of Babel (last level of ep. 2) where I didn't know what was going on... there were no enemies.

I wandered around a bit with my chaingun and then heard this roar, then looked to the side and this towering beast stood beside me, firing rockets as i heard it's mechanical legs pumping.


Scary shit for a 6 year old.

Yes, I owned him.

They are the same enemy if it shows. I assume you meant the doom3 pic big grey enemy, if so, the original is the same enemy with a few less poly's


My favourite has to be the Cacodemon....the way it dies *drools* was so revolutionary to me lol.

The good thing about doom enemies is they all have their own personality to eachother (except ones like Hell knight/Baron of Hell etc..). I mean you've probably seen the Hell Knight in doom3 vids throw the zombie like a ragdoll into the wall because _he is bigger_. Man this game is gunna own and own my pants!.
