:) I basically love what the Tekken series has offered.

I'm actually bored with the majority of the figher games out there mainly due to the originality and nothing new to offer. The only game fighting game at the moment that interests me is Soul Caliber 2, which I'm skint at the moment to dish out any money.

Huge Tits!!!!!!

agreed.

and less button bashing, more skill. great examples are super smash bros. melee and sould callibur 2- especially the latter one requires bucketloads of skill... plus a great feature is that each character has 10 weapons that they can use once you unlock them. Each has special attributes and strengths / weaknesses... for instance link gets an amazing fairy sword that heals him, but at the same time his version of the soul callibur slowly reduces his health, but deals more damage. He also has a huge biggeron's sword that requires two hands to weild.

and simpler combos!!! how the hell am i supposed to remember AND execute a super 10 button combo off the top of my head? especially as the buttons have to be pushed in that special way at that special time...

More realistic fatal fighters like Bushido Blade 1 or 2. It's not since Bushido Blade 2 have a seen a fighter be TRULY worth the purcahse. I would like to see a new Bushido Blade more then anything for PS2 right now.

Suicide42 knows the fighters.... Bushido Blade was pretty good too though...

They need some real scroling beat um ups. I mean can non of these developers remeber how good streets or rage 1 and 2 where :S they all a bunch of n00bies

blood. bloody finishing moves. and bloody weapons.

so mortal kombat: D, is all i need ;)

I've never played Soul Calibur 2 or Smash Brothers: Melee. Am I missing out? I have played the original Smash Brothers though.

Taki has always been my favorite Soul Edge/Calibur character.. not even because of her boobs, just because I've always been best with her out of all the characters :)

I think fighting games need more blocking/countering techniques, because every fighting game I have ever played both players just button mash until the person who got the most hits in wins

:hmph: Tekken has the most complex blocking and countering I have ever played in a fighting game. Don't say it doesn't because they ARE hard to pull off, so most of the time you wouldn't be countering, but blocking no problem. Although if you're good as hell, the characters can pull off combos that literally end the match.

Exactly! Bushido Blade 2 is a fun game! Its one of those games that looks like ass but I still play to this day because there isn't anything out that rivals it gameplay wise. Since there doesn't seem to be anything one the way from Square, I have some tentative plans to make a small mod in the vein of Bushido Blade for HL2, all you fans may want to keep an eye out for it.

I like cheezy fighting game spinoffs like Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball.
Ya... I play it cause its a sports game..thats it.

I like to see 2D. And weapons. Samurai Showdown 4 is my favorite fighting game of all time by the way.

I think VF4 is the most accomplished fighter out there. It's the game of choice in nearly all fighting game tournies worth their salt, the depth and learning curve it boasts puts pretty much all other fighters to shame.

Personally I prefer Street Fighter and King of the Fighters :) Loved Tekken 2/Soul Calibur, and both of the Power Stone series aswell \o/

(glad to see someone mentioned Bushido Blade, what a sweet game that was :) Another sequal, including more dirty tricks and brutal visuals, would be fantastic. Tobal was pretty neat too)

We have our winner. Deception is going to be fantastic - the return of stage fatalities, weapon pickups, proper fatalities (DA ones were rather crap) and classic returning characters.

I've also become obsessed with Dead or Alive 3 recently, just for the crapload of content it has to offer.

Nothing beats International Karate for the Commodore 64. I wish they'd remake it for consoles. That game takes m4d sk1LLz compared to the wuss games we have nowadays.

dead or alive has some goodies in....but tekken offers the best variety of fighting

I like to see fighting games on the PC... 'cept that NEVER happens!!! WTF is with that anyhow!?

Fighting games are all about multiplayer, crowding around a tv with your mates and beating the crap out of each other. This type of play isn't usually convinient on a pc (on a desk, small monitor etc). The lack of decent joypads/sticks doesn't help either :(

Street Fighter... Ummm, love that game. If you like that game you shold look in to Street Fighter Hyper for the PS2, which should contain all the classic Street Fighter games (Hype, II, Super II).

Tekken is good. But only with the fighters which can pull of an Chicken, or Counterattack, like Paul and Jun. They drives your friends mad I'd tell ya!

I bought Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution, but never played it that much, because the battles becomes alike, maybe because I miss something?

There is fighting games for the PC, I remember at least .... 1.... OMF (One Must Fall).... Robots fighting and upgrading, that is ..... fun?

Probably so. I know I did untill shown otherwise.

There is really no other fighter than can begin to compete with VF4 in terms of depth and gameplay - it stands head and shoulders above the rest.

However, it's certainly not an immediately satisfying experience, and only a game for people who really want to devote some serious time and practise into it imo. If you have noone else, who is equally serious/into fighters, to play against, it's also not a great choice (unless youlive near a decent arcade that has tournies etc) Tekken is a far more friendly button mashing game :)

Personally, I couldn't be bothered in the end and went back to Street Fighter :)
