What movies have influenced Valve?

I see some of Dawn of the Dead {old version} in Halflife 2, in particular the part with the gasmask swat teams at the start.Obviously war of the worlds has been an influence on HL .What do you think?

The zombies freakishly resemble Copper starting to be assimilated in the snow, right before he gets torched by MacReady. With the really long fingers growing out of his hands.

It's almost a mirror image to be a coincidence. They've always reminded me of the Half-life zombies.

Yeah i totally agree with you, that was the first thing i thought when i saw the zombies in HL1. They look even more like Cooper now in HL2. Its definately no coincidence
