Check this out:

firecloud9md.jpg

this is the view from my window, of the fires that are still uncontrolled in Perth, Australia. ( don't take it out on the fire fighters. they had it under control, then the arsonist lit a few more :flame: )

It doesn't look like anything to me? I guess the cloud looks smoky, perhaps, but if i didn't know it was a picture of a fire area, I wouldn't know what I was looking at except a window and part of a room.

Dont see any flames,. just looks like dawn/dusk.

Who would 'take it out on the firefighters'..?

We comprende. Still, it is not evident by the picture.

one might think to take it out on them because it has been uncontrolled for 4 days. but, meh!

Exactly what I was thinking it looked like. Heck, its even tame looking compared to some overcast skies i've seen. So it's hard to distinguish if its smoke in the sky or not.

Wildland fires are not nessisarily controllable. Fires can double in size every minute.

I'm working towards landing a job as a firefighter,. but I really dont want to be working wildland. A bad crosswind can carry the fire faster then you can run. Lots of firefighters die fighting wildland.

this is the view from outside. for some reason the camera makes it seem less orange than the eye. maybe i'm color blind...

Still looks like overcast skies to me :( But I certainly believe you. Being there would make a bigger impression i'm sure, or a better picture.

Its a bit more evident that there is an orange glow on the horizon.

Why dont you go down there and get some close ups for us? ;)

A pic of some marshmellows roasting on a stick will only add to it!

Now, a red/orangish moon definately makes a good example of it.

Heh, those dirt spots if thats what they are, look like other planets :-P

The original one was started by a tourist

Wasn't talking about the stars visible in the picture, i'm talking about many of the browner spots on the picture that appear larger than the visible moon.

oh... right, i hadn't turned the brightness up. yeah, i think that is dirt. sorry, my mistake :D
