What should be in The Orange Box 2?

I personally think Portal is like a one shot idea, i can't see any sort of Portal 2 down the road, but who knows, Valve can do what they want. I'd like to see all of the Half-Life games (Half-Life Source, Half-Life 2, Eps. 1-3) and some sort of multiplayer game, just because they don't take up that much space working off the same engine and sharing models and such, in the case that they do 'package' the games together, but if they put it on the console, I can't see them not packaging it with a handful of other games

If you've seen the current "mods" where they stick the Portal gun "into" Half-Life 2, you'll notice the Combine can't shoot or go through the portals.

But if GF had a Portal gun, and he could like Portal the Combine and the striders and stuff...

Would be teh 1337!! :smoking:

What you described sounds more like "Half-Life Anthology"

Is an OB2 even confirmed? I don't know what it contain besides Ep3 and maybe Portal 2.

The Orange Box was meant to be called the black box but got cancelled - check gamespot if you don't believe me. I also don't think they'll release a sequel to OB cos if all the games are new then they'll cost more to produce unlike HL2 and ep1 which are a few years old. I think they'll release Ep 3 on its own on 360 cos everyone with OB will want it at least i do
 
Theres already is a half life anthology with all HL1 sequels and HL1 and its only ?7 on amazon bargain
 
I want it to include Episode Two and Episode Three.

I bought Orange Box from Steam because it would look horrible in middle of my awesome cases like Half-Life Generation and Crysis Special Edition. That is really the worst boxart ever.
 
I would like to see Half-Life 1: Redux. Take Half-Life bring the graphics up to date and ether add new chapters or improve old ones. I also want to see EP 1,2 and 3. But what they should really do is not put out a sequel at all, instead make Half-Life 1:Redux, EP3 ,Lost Coast and all of the HL1
Games (Blueshift, Decay ect.) avalible on Xbox live. and let the player/buyer choose what he want's.

Sounds reasonable, at least the first three do. I'm not so sure an expansion for tf2 is necessary, at least not one that can't be added through a steam update. As for a new game, The Crossing would be cool, as it is also being published by Valve.

Me has a good idea for something extra in orange box 2(THIS IS NOT SPAM):
Shepard's Test​
It is the 7 hour war, and the Gman has a good idea to test Shepard's usefulness. He is to help humans fight the combine in the invasion in order to allow some people to escape captivity (Eli, etc). he zooms down into combat and the UN building is under assault. A portal storm has opened right above it. New York is under attack! Combine bombers are bombing the buildings, clearing away AA guns and missile sites. Gunships are taking out Abrams tanks all around, big gunships, things never seen by Gordon, are beaming down vaporizing weapons, killing massive numbers. Shepard, seeing this hell, grabs the m16 of a dead soldier, and it begins. Boom, one synth goes down, BOOM, another. Drop ships, dozens of them, are raining down synths, aliens, everything, at humanity. He turns around, and a large Crab synth comes storming down a Highway in New York, gunning down everything. A dozen choppers come in, attempting to take out the gunships and drop ships, but to no avail. Glider synths come in and scrap them. Shepard takes a missile launcher, and BOOM, the crab synth is cleared away. He runs for the UN, where the last desperate actions by humanity are only slowing down the combine, not stopping them. He reaches it, and joins his friends in a fight. Earlier, before the Portal storm opened, Breen had been arrested for questioning by the UN. World leaders are in the building, and are now trapped inside. Somehow, Breen managed to tell the combine where he was. It's like he can talk to them. But the fight goes on. Shepard sees a commander, and he's holding a tau cannon, experimental weapons for fighting this war. Then ZIPZIPZIP, he is killed by a synth. Shepard, wasting no time, grabs it and begins to charge it. BOOOOOM, and a hole is put into a synth. BOOOOM, another one goes down. But they are too many. Gunner synths are crawling in. To many. The soldiers create a snowfall of bullet shells as the fight goes on. Lightning is growing in green lines, as the Portal grows, allowing more Combine in. Then, BOOM. A synth fires a beam weapon goes off from a bomber, and a whole section of the UN building comes down. Shepard fires charging bursts, killing three gunships at a time. He sees more and more coming in from the Portal. he realizes it is fruitless. Then, he pulls the charger and tapes it. the tau cannon begins to get unstable from an over charge. He throws the gun at a Synth in the masses of gunner synths. BOOOOM, and over 100 go down in an electric explosion from the tau cannon. he picks up an MG from the ground, and begins killing numerous synths at every second. then, an elite hunter comes up and stabs him. He falls down in pain. a gunner synth then come up and fires two shots. one hits his face, the other his arm. he collapse into a comma. While he is out, the last fighter are defeated, and the combine raid the UN. The world leaders are round up, and taken to a drop ship. They are brought through the portal to the combine over world. there, they are transformed, forcefully, into host bodies. They are turned into slaves for the combine, and set up for Earth's leadership. breen is brought to the advisors, to make an agreement of peace. As the UN burns, a roar of energy is heard. VROOOOM. CA-CLUNK, SHUUUUUUUUOOOOOPT, BOOOOM. A citadel lands in the center of New York. The World Trade Center, already gone, allows for a perfect landing sight. PUSHHHH, cables shoot out to stabilize it. then it opens, and out comes synths. They collect the dead for processing. Any survivors are forced into synth soldiers. Shepard is captured. He is already seen as a strong warrior, and the combine respect thim for that. he is allowed to kepp his memories, and is turned into a synth soldier, fixing his lost eye and hand from the gunner synth's attack. And so begins his service for the combine, as a permanent offworld soldier. A comander of invasions, in the ever expanding combine empire.

This is made of epic win for a game ^

All I read was "Shephard's" and I fear for this thread. Reasonable discussion + Shephard = SHIT IT'S GONNA BLOW
 
I think rather than another OB, they'll release a Half-Life 2 anthology (Half-Life 2, Ep:1, 2, 3), just to squeeze more money out of the minority group that hasn't got Half-Life 2 and didn't buy the OB. Then they'll release Episode 3 on Steam. Just to piss off everyone who was forced to buy the anthology just to get it.

Hopefully they'll just sell EP 3 on it's own and save everyone the hassle of having multiple copies of games.

I have to say, I find the idea of a beartrap inside any commercially released product appealing.

Except, of course, a box of beartraps. That's just not comedy.
 
I know this is blasphemy but I think a source version of half life anthology should be released on 360 for people who have orange box and dont know what the story is about
