What should I get? Doom III or Painkiller?

I thought long on where to post this.
Doom III is mentioned in the title so I thought I should post this in the Doom III forums...but Painkiller is also mentioned...but there is no Painkiller forums; just the General Gaming forums.
So I decided to post this in the Doom III forums.
Anyways, Doom III has been on my list for a while but Painkiller runs a lot better with better details.
But I'm not sure about Doom III, if I turned off everything in the Advanced options menu, maybe I can run it at 1600x1200 at high/ultra details and get awesome framerates.

Both games were less than thrilling imo, so don't get either Spend your cash on UT2004 and get Red Orchestra 3 2 games for the price of one!

Well i've just been playing through painkiller and it found it more enjoyable then doom 3.

I played the two Painkiller demos and they were THE most silly gaming experience I've ever had. The music is silly and repetitive, the enemies were silly and repetitive and the levels in general were silly and repetitive.
Doom 3, flawed as it is, is a much more evolved experience and is more worthy of your money.

Definately Doom 3.

Painkiller, as mentioned above is very repetitive. The levels are, the monsters are, as is the annoying music. The weapons are good, but that is about it.

Painkiller runs at high res and still looks ok, but it is the only good point that painkiller really has over Doom 3, get Doom 3.

I played Painkiller all the way through and i had fun.
Doom 3, I got bored and uninstalled it.

IMO Painkiller is the better bang for you buck.

Haha, well asking what to buy doom3 or painkiller is something you really should not do, for the simpel reason that they are so different, its something you really should figure out for you're self. Or better yet read a lot of reviews on both on them and pay attention to the discription of the game. And ask you're self what do you think you would like the best, other option is that you download d3 from bittorrent, wich is easy cause it has so much seeders and leechers, and try the agame, (if you don't like it you should offcourse immidietly delete it. cause its illegal)
Its not like comparing two footbal games, where it has to do more with the quality and not personal opinion. I'm not trying to flame you but my point is that even after this poll you will still have much a chance to make the right or wrong decision in buying the game.

I have to agree with this. Although, Doom 3 is overall better because it has better graphics. Doom 3 also has a reloading animation and you can duck. heh.

Woah man I though PK story was crap, D3 may have been predictable but pk there was no question in what was gonna happen.

PK mp is umm odd, hardly any hit scan weapons which means because of normal lead time and lag, its very hard to hit anything.

Exciting yes, shooting the monsters that jump up way high at you with the stake gun is awsome.

PK scared you?!?! I cant recall one scary part of the whole game.

Its personal opinion. Try to get a demo of both if they are available. Play and see it yourself.

Thats actualy true, i was greatly dissapointed of doom3 but painkiller is seriously fun BLOOD AND GORE!!!!!!!!

Well I wouldn't advise you on buying Doom 3, wait for a demo, and I've not played the full game of Painkiller but the demos were ok, but repetative

Yeah, best bet is to attempt to last long enough to play a demo and/or play it at a friend's with it already.

Painkiller (and Far Cry) were both games I regretted buying; Doom 3, surprisingly, never annoyed me quite enough to make me curse the day I spotted it at Woolworths for £29.99 (and Virgin is still selling it at at £34.99! Joy!)
