What are the effects of this mysterious superbug that is sweeping the United States. I hear so much about it and here about so many perscriptions being handed out for it, but it doesn't seem to be that big of an issue. But knowing that I, and everyone else may have A.D.D scares the hell out of me. What if it screws up my life? What if I can't focus? Ahhhhh, somebody stop the torment of the A.D.D! But seriously, why the heck is it such a big deal?

why do they call it a disease if most people have it? Is it possible that it is just a ploy by the drug companies to make tons and tons of money?

Essentially, it's giving the employees of government-run schools the ability to shove sedation pills down students' throats if they speak up :/

quiffy!

or if they don't speak up. Remember add is a two sided coin and it affects everyone from all walks of life, even those that can pay attention. Everyone has it and everyone needs to be cured. Maybe add is a conscience or a personality that causes a person to be abnormal. we need to get rid of consciences and personalities so that everyone is normal.

:borg:

I highly disagree. Without a conscience or a personality, a person is anything but normal.

i was being sarcastic and unrealistic

:stare: My mistake...

Hard to detect sarcasm over the internet. :)

A.D.D is real but there are also a lot of people out there using it as an excuse for how they act since they don't know how to act properly. :dozey:
"Oh I've got A.D.D!" just put em on pills. Not the solution.

Lets get these parents to teach their child how to pay attention and behave while not having to be entertained by electronics at home. Then maybe they will pay attention in school as well. :\

Parents are lazy here and kids are brats. Both kids and parents use it as an excuse for thier shortcomings, parents as an shortcut to discipline and kids as an excuse to misbehave. Pharmecutical companies are all to happy to oblige them with a "solution"

And, yes it is a real disease, and some children are effected by it, some parents cant control thier kids otherwise...but it sure as **** isnt the contaigious epidemic people here pretend it is just so they can ignore thier own responsibilities. When I was a kid, I met one kid with ADD in all my years of elementary school. Nowadays you can find entire classroms of kids on ritalin...less than 1% of whom actually need it.

:) Can too much computer and videogames cause A.D.D.?

I have it and im pissed at my mum for sticking me in a Hospital so they could check If I really have it. I do I had to take those stupid drugs until I was 12 they helped made me sleepy but now.... never again NEVER
that Hospital saty tooke 6 long weeks I cried everytime when mum brought me at the weekend

No, that only causes N.E.R.D
Actually the disease would be G.E.E.K.

The N.E.R.D. disease is commonly thought to be caused by video games due to similar symtoms however the two are in fact different.

A.D.D. is like a lot of mental illnesses that range from unnoticable effects to life altering ones. Yes there are people that do not have it very badly and there are most likely children that are medicated for it that should not be. But there are also more severe cases where it is a serious illness.

I really think mental illnesses are probably the most misunderstood diseases in our society. Take something like depression/suicide for example. Very few people really know anything about it and people are often criticized for wanting "attention." But while there are no doubt some who do want attention there are many many others who have a serious illness they cannot control.

Sedation pills? They give them amphetamines.

actually more like speed-up pills things like adderol and dexedrine / redaline all have upper effects and often classify in the category of amphedimines, sedation would make your concentration worse. Speed some how stimulates the organization part of the brain but specifics on how or why aren't exactly known.

Because kids are bastards who need attention. Send them off to the salt mines for 10 years, that'll rub off any awkward corners they have. That's a better solution than pumping them full of their novelty medicines. They'll turn out as more rounded individuals, and one day they will thank you.

:frown: My penis has ADD. The doctor is giving me Viagra for its condition.

First of all, you were a kid 2 once, and i dont know how old you are but if youre 30 years or higher I would say: get a life / job instead of being on a forum.
