What to do?

Ok I'll make this fast, I believe I have two options here, see if you can help me choose:

Preordering the Orange Box now pros:
-5 dollars off
-Peggle
-TF2 beta
-A definite Orange Box possesion
-2 games to gift

Waiting:
-More Steam options (Black Box)
-Cheaper (how much is the question)
-Not buying too games I don't already own

I know this list makes me look stupid but if I could wait a month to get Steam Black Box and save 15 dollars or so I would probably do it, TF2 beta or not.

So if you read anything on this page let it be this:
How much do you think the Steam Black Box will cost?

EP1 and HL2 are free according to DougV at Valve. (And apparently Gabe, but I haven't seem proof of the Gabe one)

Yeah but think about it, wouldn't the Black Box cost just as much then? Why bother even selling it.
I think they were referring that it was so cheap the combined price of HL2 and Ep. 1 weren't even counted, so the Black Box would be doubly cheap.... right?...

oh, just get the orange box. You can justify the price by saying you paid $5 more for peggle.

I don't think it's confirmed that they're going to do that. But I'm not sure.

I'm confused why the concept of having HL2 and Episode 1 free is so difficult? Here are your choices...

1) Orange box
2) Not buying Orange box

Black box ceases to exist, is no more, has become defunct, gone to meet it's making, pushing up the daisies, kicked the bucket, IT'S AN EX-PRODUCT. So there is your choice. Buy it or don't buy it

I would be inclined to agree, however the dead parrot sketch is one of the best ever comedic pieces of gold, therefore he gets my thumbs up.

The will likely only release a 'Black box' package once they seen how many people sign up to Steam and start playing their free versions of HL2 and ep.1
I would say that many or even most of the gamers that play through HL2 and ep.1 will want to keep playing, cue the 'Black box' if there is a continued demand for it...
But I can't see it coming out before Christmas, at the earliest...
Perhaps what is more likely is that the individual games will just come down in price and there will be no Black box...
I weighed it up and bought the Orange box and I will give the extra games to a friend who will appreciate them...£26 for Orange box...In my local GAME store, Half life 2 game of the year edition (including Counter strike source and Half life source) is £20...Ep.1 is also £20...I bought Ep.1 on Steam for £4.60 ($9.95)...lol
Anyway, no room for complaining in my mind...Orange box = great deal even if you prentend that you don't get HL2 and ep.1 with it...
