What Valve should do

Valve should Cancel HL2 because of the leak, then give out teh name, and address of whoever leaked it, and sue him, but because his name is given out he should be be killed by somone who is angry HL2 got canceled. After a few months they should un-cancel HL2, after the leaker got killed and/or permanently dissabled.

this thread is useless. useless like the comments you' just made. the hl2 source was not leaked. it's just a nerd with a lot of time on his hand that created this elaborated hoax. think about it. it just does not make sense. this is the first time in pc gaming history (to my knowledge anyway) that the FULL source code for a yet-to-be-released-game has been leaked. impossible.

doom3alpha? it was not the code.... was it? if i remeber correctly, it was the alpha demo preview at e3 right?


EDIT: i've done some research and it was the doom3 alpha *demo*, not the *source code* that was leaked... i stand by my point. no way this is real.

You don't seem to understand what source code is. Source code is not the actual game and you can not play it. It is all the code used to develop the game which can cost a company millions if it's leaked. I have ever heard of the source to a game being leaked before it was released, as Benji mentioned.
