What Valve think about STALKER ?

The only game I really think comes close to rivalling Half-Life 2 is Doom 3, but then everyone is different

Actualy that thread proves his point.

Look at any email that asks a question like "will X be MP for HL2?" and the guy also asks something else less interesting and Valve always answer the less interesting one.

That why whenever i email them i ask only 1 question and make sure they can not turn the question into something else...

Eg. Will we have fully destructable buildings with HL2?

Valve: A mod could do it

thats doesnt answer the question, that gives no information on wether HL2's actual un modded game will have fully destructable buildings.

etc....

Ever thought about the reason why they dont give you straight answers on questions like that? Half Life² isnt out YET! they dont want to release to much information.

Doom3 is a totally diffrent game, you cant compare it, not even close

Bah, I wrote a post explaining myself, but I got half way through and couldn't be arsed. Suffice to say, you must have misunderstood what I was saying.

Everyone said FarCry would pwn Half-life 2 and Doom 3. Suffice to say it hasn't been that 'great'. I think STALKER will be good but only good enough to compete with FarCry.

Doom 3 and Half-life 2, whilst different games, will be in competition for top spot simply because they are they Daddy and Grandaddy of the FPS.

I saw the E3 2k4 Stalker trailer and it looked really horrible. It was the video of the main character chasing some mutated animals around or something like that.
