I think many ppl are playing with the warez version. Why are you asking for the number? I'm curious.

Because me and my friend want to play CS Source in LAN, and everytime I host a game and he joins me he gets the message "wrong version". we`re not online, but I can download the correct version somewhere on the Internett (unofficial), but it would help us a lot. Yes, we have both bought Half-Life 2.

I'm afraid the only way to obtain the updates is through Steam. Why don't you just download them for both computers that way? I'd say don't try dling anything unoficially, you wouldn't want to have your account banned.
