look we know about hl2 like nothing we have only few videos and some screenshots what about other games like COD we know about this game to much... what if the game is only 50% made or something but they should release a demo game first, they had like 5years to make this game so its their duty to release a demo version of the game....

yes, it's right because they can do anything they want, and I prefer to wait until I have the game and discover all the great things than having a demo and discover some of them.

Does anyone have an official word from Gabe Newell saying that you HAVE to program wood in a map to break? I need an OFFICIAL statement! It's driving me nuts! Possibly the coolest thing that I THOUGHT HL2 was gonna have.

No, the material assigns all those properties for you. But you can set the wood material to NOT break, via a flag in the material file.
