What will the next car you buy be? Include your opinions on why that car is a good choice and a link to some pictures and info on it. Also send me $3.50 through the mail as a random act of kindness.

05-06-07 Mustang , depending on when I feel comfortable the recalls have happened and can afford it and still afford an apartment later. Since you posted the 05 Mustang thread Ill assume we know what it looks like ;)

I'm buying a used F150 in the next few months. I'm looking at 2000/2001 models.

If I get another car soon it would be a Mini Cooper S (from the opinions I express on many other subjects you probably could have guessed that I would pick a small car rather than an SUV).

I drive a gorgeous volvo :) but my father just completed a long business deal that essentially pays both my sisters through college, takes us on a couple trips, and buys this. It just finished building and is ready for european pickup... gotta love the autobahn.

If you don't recognize it, it's the new BMW 5 series. It's been getting great reviews all around. 6 speed standard, sport package, 4.5 liter engine (545i)

I wish i was older and had money :)

umm... a volkswagon beetle. theres a good car.
Yes, it is a good car. That's what I drive right now. The only problem so far has been the head room in the back seat.

Why do people want trucks? People bitch and moan about gas prices, but they keep buying Hummers, F150s, etc... and making it worse. Is it because they occasionally need to haul stuff. It's cheaper (because of gas prices) to own a small car and just rent a truck when you need one.

So, it's not for economical reason. Is it for safety? Your safety in a big vehicle compromises the safety of people in small cars, pedestrians, bikers, etc. If everyone got SUVs so they would feel safe everyone would be in more danger than they are now... and they would just keep getting bigger and bigger vehicles until everyone is driving tanks.

Don't just talk about the problems... do something about them. I know I try to...

okay, not to start a debate... what about people on farms? some people live VERY active lifestyles, especially where i live... ie going to the mountains about every week, camping skiing boarding fishing etc... can't fit all that into a car. what would you suggest they do? hmm???

edit: btw, i don't whine about the gas prices, i say if people wanna buy suv's and waste money on gas, that's their prerogative. i'm waiting for the hydrogen fuelcell cars personally. hydrogen fuelcell engines are more powerful than combustion engines ;) ...btw maskirova... i think you have by far the most disturbing avatar.

My next car will either be an old used BMW 3-series coupe, or a brand new Scion xA.

In about 5 years through clever real estate investment I'd like to get the almighty Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG.

/me grins like a fool

p.s. The right choices so far in this thread have been from lone deranger, 0cyberman0, spiffae, and babywax

the FIRST car I buy will be an old style (S reg ish) Mini Cooper

Another BMW 3 series coupe preferably.
I have a crusty old diamondblack e30, now i want the model that came after that one.

Probably a '02 camaro in a year or so, when I sell the car I have right now and can afford it

EDIT: btw is it just me or is there no post #16?

I don't see a #16 either... maybe it has something to do with the new page? A BUG perhaps?

lol yea...my avatar is definitely meant to be disturbing.

and on the truck thing...i want one because i move quite often since i'm in school. i don't have a permanent residence and i also don't use my vehicle that often, so gas mileage wouldn't be a huge problem.

of course i won't be buying a new truck anytime soon...i just pasted the picture link cause that's what i'd buy if i bought a new truck. realistically, i'd get a used light truck just to move my stuff around and for occasional transportation. i'm not making 30+ minute commutes or anything. renting is a hassle...so if you don't use your truck to make frequent, long, trips, it's a good vehicle to have. and the tacomas get low 20's mileage even on the V6 models...which is better than most SUVs.

word, masky. see everyone? some people need trucks. oh and another reason some people could require a truck... what about when you live in a place that gets lots of snow? eh? a car? hahahah yeah right, come over here during a blizzard, watch the cars get stuck, and the trucks drive fine with no prob. :)

Thats gonna be the first car i buy :D

"Off Roaders" are great an all but at any speed i would much rather be inside a smaller car.

the next car i buy WONT be an air powered one. id send u the link but i forgot it ;)

Heh, you can't see posts 16 or 19.. hmmm.

Anyway. I want to buy a black Ford KA, with purple Neon underlighting :)

I don't like the SUV owners that get a huge-ass (and ass-looking) Expedition or Suburban or what the fock ever, and NEVER take it offroad (what it was made for), and only use it to drive all by themselves on there 75 mile commute, even though it was made to carry 13+ passengers.

p.s. The Excursion isn't an SUV, it's a focking BUS!

My mom is going to give me her 2003 Honda Accord in 3 years.

suv's are retarded fashion statements with little beneficial use. trucks are great if you need one (ranch work, you own a moving company, you haul machines or trailers). if it fits in a car, i guess you dont need a gas chugging monster vehicle. stop driving SUV's to work in the city fools. get a minivan or something

suvs have a purpose. they allow a larger storage capacity than a car and they allow for more passengers generally.

although I think the Van craze of the '70s need to come back. you can get into vans for much cheaper than a suv, and have much more modding potential. The problem is making it bling bling cool as an escalade yo

I just got a 2k3 Mitsu Evo VIII, but for my next car I will most likely get an SUV. I really like the Pathfinder Armada's.

I would honestly like to get the Honda Civic Hybrid. Its a big dip in horse power compaired to a regular civic, but it'll save me money............and I like that.

Plus hondas are freakn' reliable..... read about a guy who drove his (used) for 10 years never took it to the mechanic, other than changing oil and stuff. Never had one problem with it. Then finaly one day in D.C. it just died, and he felt it had served him well........and he left it in an ally.

I can't remember the point..............
but I like saving money.

would you buy a 4 year old computer thats not upgradable? would you buy a 4 year old hybrid car thats not upgradable? Hybrid cars make sense until you think about it like a car and a modern technology, the batteries are built into the frame of the car, and requires a major effort to remove/replace and have a 4 year life span. They wont hold thier value and will depriciate just as fast as processor prices

on top of that they have horrible acceleration. My brother test drove the prius and his exact words It felt like the car was dangerous because it couldn't accelerate fast enough to merge onto the highway.

if your worried about money get a kia or some other econo box that gets 40 to 50mpg, it'll be cheaper to insure and cheaper to fix than any hybrid
