This is a NEW topic about what you will do when half life 2 comes out. I believe ill stock up on bawls and coffee starbuck drinks and send off my box to the company to hopefully get it signed. I really hope this game comes out this summer, they say late summer so hopefully that wont be like late August...when does summer end exactly...? Cant wait for the new magazines and E3 coming soon, so much to hear...woo!

What I've been doing with all the FPS games that have come out lately is get online first but only for about half an hour just to bask in the whole "just released" excitement that is always prevalent online during those first couple of days. Then I'll start digging into the single player campaign mixed with some multiplay every now and then. I'll be doing the same for Doom3 as well.

I have it all planned out, first I will score an 8th of weed and buy some MGD beer, after that I will head down to Panda Inn and order Orange Chicken, Beef brocali, chow mein, 2 eggrolls, hotsauce. When all thats done I will smoke a few bowls and install HL2 and play it while getting pissed drunk and eating, while im deep in the game i will take 20 minute breaks and hit bowls all night. I did the same with NWN release.

Well in that case, can I come smoke and drink beer with you? That way I won't have to really think about my life, I can just drink my life away and run away from all of my problems! What a novel idea . And not only that, but while I'm at it, I can gain cool points from all of my peers! I will be a rebel if I drink and smoke, therefore I am curageous, therefore cool!

After doing all of that work, I think I will put on my psuedo-intellectual mask and try to sound intelligent, so people will think that I'm the smart pothead type. That will really get me far =)

guys, smoking pot occasionally and drinking is not a huge deal. I'm a junior in highschool with a 3.8 GPA and i smoke once a month sometimes more, and i get drunk prolly every other weekend or two. Some people can't handle the issue and get thrown around in life and screw up, i know myself and i can do just fine, even though its not the best thing for my body... :O but...considering i weight 145 and put up 215 on bench is a pretty good thing and i stay active so amen to all the people similiar to me!

thats not a bad bench at all for your weight. i've always struggled with bench press though, even when i was working out steadily i think i could barely do 230 and i weighed 180 or so. but ive always been weak on bench

however! reading this post is not what i am talking about. This is kind of sad, play the thing straight man it will be just as fun. I think drugs have their place and thats with regards screwing up relaity to make thigns extra fun not for sitting in the dark playing games for the first time.

in any case, i'm the type that likes to go through the training missions just to get a feel, play single player a bit, until i'm done with a level or as usually what happens, i'll go for a while, forget to save and die. then i'll quit and play mp for a while. i agree too, that when a game is fresh, mp is much more fun. people aren't bothered about their egos, they just wanna play and have fun.

I won't start with the hazard course - I'll go through it when I decide to play the game "seriously" - I'll just try to find a manipulator as soon as possible and do some weird stuff with it. Just hope no enemies will be around to disturb my experiments!

i bet it ships on a tuesday or thursday. seems like every major game is shipped on tuesdays or thursdays.. i guess it's the same sort of thing with movies on weds and fridays...but then again, no stores EVER seem to have a game the day the game is supposedly "in stores" stupid idiot store people are like "yeah the game hasn't been released yet, it'll ship in about 5 days, we'll have it then" ... and i know they know NOTHING about what they're talking about. dicks. :frown:

I think what I'll do is buy it on that day and just smell it and lick it every so often before installing it after a week or two so that I don't instantly become some hermit recluse with a weird reputation on campus.
And yes I realise the sexual nature of what I just wrote, but hey it's the anticipation that makes the experience even more enjoyable. Grrrrr.

I agree with you Vars. I always play the SP through to the end, so I don't spoil the weapons. It's always nice whewn you pick up a new weapon and grin evily (see sig) wondering what it can do.

I hope that being the first Steam-from-scratch game the HAx0rz will have a harder time exploiting the game. Look at CS, they destroyed that game. When someone is doing well you don't think "Wow, he/she's a good player!" you think "insertnamehere Hax, tbh". It's taken the respect out of the game.

Yup.. the first few days when a game comes out Multyplayer is the best!

the community is small and personal.. for example SOF2 .. the first week, multiplayer was awsome.
