Whatever happened to TF2?

Whatever happened to TF2 anyway? Did valve cancel it or was it just delayed or are they gonna release it with HL2 or what?

Whenever it comes out, it better not be too serious! One of TFC's big attractions was all the stupid stuff that happens. Does anybody remember the trick you could do to make dead bodies move around? Those were some of the best times in HL...

Its being developed on the HL2 engine source.
Its going to be a stand alone product.
They should be releaseing more news on it soonish, hopefully.
And its going to be released some time after HL2

Yeah Gabe said they would release more info on it after HL2 ships.

Just by him saying that and taking the past into account, I think there will be TF2 media on the half life 2 disk, just like it did with hl.

Taking into consideration that i've been playing TF since its original conception on the quake 1 engine.

TFC was a redux for the HL engine of the mod for Quake 1, TF is based on it, but is not it, go look it up, you'll see, there's TF for HL and there's TFC for HL when TF2 was getting delayed

yup, but the TF for Q and the TFC for HL are muc more similar then the TF2 for HL2...as far as we could so from the old screenies and concepts

...ofcourse it may have changed totally...wich i hope

I'm a little worried that tf2 won't be as zany as tfc was.
The old media made it look like there were no rocket launchers, no signs of pyro, crazy nades, etc.

Every had a realistic gun that shot bullets. . . Wtf ?
lol but the spy looked cool.
Even if it is VERY different in style and concept, it should still be fun to p lay :\

First Halflife2 then TF2. With all the hype/rumors around HL2 about delays and everything, it'll be a long time before we actually see TF2.

well the guys who created the original TF, and TFC and TF2 are the same (obviously with a bit of help), so whatever we get from them at least we know it's their vision of how they want the MOD to evolve.

Before half life 2 was announced valve said that TF2 was still in development but that it had taken on a more scfifi approach.

So im expecting some pretty insane weapons.

Does anyone remember Gabe or someone from VALVe saying that TF2 now had a storyline closely tied into Half-Life 2? I'll go searching the forum and some interviews until I can find the evidence, unless someone else remembers?

I thought tf2 was going to be released with hl2, thats what I "think" I remember reading. Who knows, it would be nice to have a mod released with it for those who arent crazy about singleplayer games.

Nope. What you should remember reading is Gabe saying that it isn't going to come with Half Life 2.
