Whatever happened to the machinima oriented tools?

I seem to recall Valve mentioning a tool for demo editing and FMV rendering. Has there been any word on that one at all?

what like something that captures your screen while ur playing or say running ur scene and then saves it to a avi when your finished? theres somehting that does that i think. itll be on the wiki.

when you're playing a demo, the commands are:
startmovie
stopmovie

No, he means tweaking the demo. Setting up camera angles and timing, editing, all in realtime demo format, no framecapturing.

You still have to capture frames, tho, I mean if you want it in a portable format (.avi, etc). Or use Fraps, whatever.
