So wats Next? We now know that Valve should be completing HL2 in a few weeks and then handed of toi Vivendi. So what would be the next line of news? Hl2 announced to "Gold"? or will we finally hear a release date from Vivendi? By the way why is it up to Vivendi to choose when to release the game? For some reason i just dont like Vivendi and never have.

Well as far as the halfliferadio community is concerned the game is completely finished and now Vivendi have to begin the process of getting it ready for distribution.

Personally, i have no ****ing idea what's going on.

If the game was finished now, we'd be getting it in a month. People seem to be exaggerating how long it takes to distribute things. Distributing things is practically all vivendi are ever doing, publishers are good at this. Generally if everything went like clockwork it would be 2 weeks from completion to release.

So IF it does come out in fall, and IF it is pretty much completed now, and they are too VERY big IFs, then vivendi have just been sitting on the game waiting for us to go crazy.

And I will go crazy.

Vivendi will also do QA, localization, marketing, production, and other behind-the-scenes stuff. 2 weeks for a game as big as HL2 = no chance.

i think u have a point here.
theres no sense in keeping secrets about info that the public needs.. such as pricing, SDK stuff, Collectors Edition etc..

yes, we all know they are aiming for a summer release...but if no info seems to be trickling down, it only means thats a sign of them not quite as ready as pple think or want Valve to be.

thinking logically...stuff like pricing info needs to get out ahead of time so those who haven't pre-ordered and so on... until that happens.. we can sit here and talk it to death about release dates and such or be patient.

I would prefer a release date, cause if the game goes gold, it can still take a month before you see the game in stores... Since I live in Europe, altough this game I will download trough steam. Anyway, a release date!
