I need this type of RAM: 512 MB 184-pin DIMM DDR PC2700
But the prices vary so much and I don't know what manufacturer is better quality/price wise.

What he said. The short answer is Corsair. But Kingston, OCZ and mushkin are also good brand. What is important is the timings, the lower the better. If you don't plan on overclocking CL 2.5 is perfect.

Quality brands are Samsung, Crucial, Corsair, Kingston, and OCZ. I'd go with one of these brands and which ever is cheaper.
Corsair, Kingston and OCZ make some models that are considered the better Performance chips though.

Geil is good too. Thats what i have, a dual channel 1gb (2x512mb) set. It works great, never had any problems with it.

I have Corsair XMS PC2700 ram and am very happy with it. Will buy Corasir XMS for my next system as well - PC3200 probably - I am using AMD and will continue using it (going from XP Barton core to a Venice/San Diego core of 3700 or 3800 64).

I bought a pair of Akasa Memory heat spreaders and stuck them on my Corsairs.

I take it theres no such thing as a Corsair is better than Cruical war, I was seriously expectingthat to come up when I read the first post asking the best RAM Manufacturer.

G.skill are probbly one of the best for OC'ing since they use samsung TCCD chips, although they are very very expensive, about £300 for 1gb of there best ram

If you need "just RAM" get any branded, cheap-range memory, ie Corsair Value Select and the other manufacturers equievelant. Youd want to avoid sellers own range, ie Ebuyers own range and so on.

I hae Corsair Value Select, 2x512MB 400MHz CAS2.5, never any problems after running memtest86 for ages.

But if you want to be aggressive with the timings or want to seriously overclock it, then what sHaDdoW said, G.skill or other high-end manufacturers like Corsair XMS range.

a 512MB 400MHz stick CAS2.5 for £32ish, funny enough CAS3.0 costs exactly the same. Just watch the currency :p

OCZ also use samsung TCCD, as do the high end corsair products, xms etc. And G. skill are indeed very expensive.
