I had a 9700 PRO once, with an AMD 2.4 and 512MB of DDR266, my frames were never below 40 :rolling:

How do you find out what frame rate you are getting? I'm curious what mine is as my system is an old one.

Specs:
Athlon 1800 at 1.8 ghz
512 DDR ram
Radeon 9600xt

Thanks Fenner.....where is the autoexec.cfg file? I used to play with dos long ago in a computer far far away :). Not sure how to do that from Win XP. Or is it in the HL2 folder somewhere? And do I use notepad? There isnt a console command to show this? Used to be one in another game I played. :cheese:

Hmm, I sometimes get fps even below 20, and my specs are:

Athlon XP 2000+ (1.6GHz, 12.5x133MHz)
512MB RAM (synchro with fsb, 133/266MHz)
Radeon 9800PRO

For example, on Highway 17, when you chose the chapter through New Game - just stand there, looking at the buggy and the npc shooting the antlions. I have 18-20fps there (everything on high, but medium isn't even one fps better). Also, my framerate drops to 20 (and below) when there are many npc and/or enemies around - is it because of the processor? R9800PRO is a pretty good graphic card, the game should perform better :(

Johnny: Putting it into your autoexec saves it so you dont have to type it each time you play :)
it's located at: half-life 2\hl2\cfg
yes,use notepad

lol i'm getting an A/B in English, i was just tired when i wrote that, have been meaning to change it for some time now :p

ONE

My feel so insecure with my masculinity!

PS: That was actually my framerate back when I tried to play Quake Three on my old computer per minute. I'm actually serious here.

Quake 3 plays great even on my ancient computer. Yours must be pre-historic!
What computer was it ? :D
