When creating a server how do i make it internet not lan?

whenever i make a server it comes up only on lan i'm pretty sure cause nobody ever joins my games, and my roomates can only see it on lan... not sure if i'm supposed to do anything different to make it visible to everyone? :dozey:

go into the console and type 'sv_lan 0' without quotes

you need to type it before running a map, or put it in the config file

in the hl2dm.cfg i put sv_lan "0"

and it didnt work.. should it be without quotes?

yea i did that.. i dont think it works i opened up all the ports also... should i be able to see my own game in the server list? cause it only comes up in lan.. and how do i cahnge the name of my server?

I think you are having the same issue that I was having. Is your server behind a router that does NAT?
