When did this "I recieved a copy of HL2" start?

Hey guys, Ive been reading some links on the internet and I keep seeing all kinds of people saying they have the copy of HL2, and its not fake. I know the fake ones have been here awhile, but when did the real copies start getting into the hands of people?

The reason im asking this is if this all started today, is there a chance that we might get an early release?

They are real, but are not supposed to have been released

Valve will not unlock it early. 3 days, that all, whats the point?

Nah, I dont care if it will be released early. I just want to know how recent these events are and how probable a early release is. So many games are comming out tuesday, its crazy.
