For those who have moved out of their parent's house, what age did you do it? I just turned 18 so I've started thinking about these things. I'm in (community) college right now

Moved out in order to goto University: 2002.
Moved out properly: 2005.
Got all my last remaining stuff hoyed out: Xmas 2006.

Moved out for uni: 2 weeks ago.
Moved out properly: Dunno yet.

I moved out like 3 months before my 18th birthday. Then I moved back in and out a couple times until I joined the USAF at 19.

I officially moved out about a year and a half ago.

As soon as I finished high school, I already had a very well paying job so I could afford to pay for everything.

Moved out last Saturday to go to Uni. Haven't really thought of home 'cuz of all the hawt wimmens here.

I'll be moving out next September-ish. I'll be 18 and three quarts.

being of european descent means you literally stay at home till you're married or dead ..I left mid 20's after university, my parents still ask if I'd like to stay over in my old room (while we were renovating my house) ..all 4 of us, plus my dog

I think you need to reword what you said... because I am of European descent despite the fact I was born in the United States. Same goes for the majority of the Americas.

:cheese:

Thinking of moving out in the next few months with my girlfriend, so i'll be 19/20 depending when we do it

Probably someplace else in Cardiff :O both of us are in Uni down here (UWIC and Glamorgan) and we both work in Cardiff so makes sense :p

And feck yea you do :D

Moved out of parents house right after high school, in july. So I was 18 at the time. Haven't lived with them since :D

Moved out for uni a couple months ago (which was a few months after my 18th), will probably properly move out in a year or two.

I lived with my parents for a year and a half after highschool and went to a local university. Then about two years ago (age 19) I moved several thousand miles away and got an apartment for my stay at this college.

yes because somehow you'd keep your old world traditions despite being 4th or 5th or 50th generation american. And you're of russian descent are you not? I specifically meant spaniards, or more accurately mediteraneans : italian, portugeuse, greek etc ..we have a rather large community from those groups in my city ..most are first or at most second generation

You take me too seriously.

And why would you think I'm of Russian descent?

I thought you mentioned it ...and isnt saying I take you too seriously a little like the kettle calling the pot black? :E

As soon as ****ing possible. I've been trying to move out pretty much all year, but a combination of bad circumstances and apathy on my part keeps pushing it back.

I'm 23 and still live at home - I don't have a reason to move out yet.

I come and go as I please, have no bills (pay rent though) and have all the privacy I need. It's basically like my own bedsit, with ensuite, in my parents house.

Seriously, unless you have a real need to move out, there is very little point.

I still live at home. I'm in the same city my uni was in so there's no need to move. I should've applied to London or something.

I'll take notes from my brother who got a well paying job at 17/18 then left home at 27 after being engaged and having no bills to pay. Then moved out into a nice house.

you should save cash now, buy a property (condo), rent it out, it pays for most of mortgage, sell it within six years/peak market, have enough cash for house downpayment ..now's the best time because you have so few responsibilities besides rent

moving out on your own at a young age is tough if you dont have a good paying job ..renting an apartment will pretty much guarentee you wont be able to save cash for a downpayment for a house/condo ..it's the biggest barrier in home ownership ..you may not care now but you will 10 years into paying rent every month when you could have putting those 10 years worth of payments into your own house

I still live at parents home, went to Uni in this town so didn't need to move ... I've had offers from gfs / ex-gfs to move in with them although I'd rather move out into my own place. Just need to get another job first.

I moved out when I was 19 to go to Uni. Got a nice apartment on the 12:th floor in a newly built house, with 5 mins (walking) to Uni, 2 mins to the trainstation, 7 mins to the store and 6 mins to buy alcohol.

It's niiice.

21, when I realised my parents were charging me on ?20 a month less rent a month than it would cost for a house share. Buh-buy.

edit - oi, I thought the pound signs and things were fixed?
???$$$%%%

Moved out to go to Uni at 18, moved out properly this year, into my final year uni accomadation :)

Probably in a year or so. I'll be done with Political Science at uni this Christmas, they I'll probably travel in Australia and New Zealand for a couple of months, then move to Gothenburg to get into the uni there.
