When do you start school?

27th, taking 8 AP classes in hopes of getting into Carnegie Mellon D:

My school never ended :(

Ive been going to school non-stop for over a year now, with only 2 one week breaks and one two week break.

I'm starting college. No idea when though. eek.

I start my first day of college September 19.

I'm majoring in chemical engineering too, is it hard?

It is a lot of work and some classes can really suck (like the one where you start doing mass and energy balances) but otherwise it is ok. It helps to work with other people on homework... helps keep you sane :P

I'm actually quite looking forward to going back to Sixth Form. I'd like to see who us year 13's are going to be sharing the Sixth Form center with, as in what year 11's made it through to year 12. Sixth Form is a good way of weeding out all the bellends and do-nothings, so hopefully, if these guys are anything like my year, we'll get the nicer of the lot, as it's mandatory that every year has it's dickheads in majority.

We're going into 'Vertical Tutoring' aswell next term, which means our tutor group is going to be a mix of all the school years divided equally, like six Year 9's, six Year 10's, six Year 11's and about three Year 12's and 13's each because the Sixth Form is a smaller section of the school. My class is pretty good - I've luckily got a class of mostly sound looking people, with only two troublemakers who will probably stay quiet seeing that they won't have a class of cronies behind them to join in.

I start Grade 11 in 15 days - September 4th. It'll be good to actually get out of my house, so for once in my life I'm looking forward to school..

Year 11 on Wednesday. I'm not sure which Wednesday though... D:
Year 11 sounds like shit. Not looking forward to it.

I start september 1st, but I go on a campingtrip with my college buddies on the 26th for 4 days as introduction to the study.

I have no clue what you just said.

Americans have other such names for year groups? I thought it was quite simple - Year 9 is your 9th school year, the start of High School, and Year 11 is the last. Year 12 and 13 is college, or if you want you can stay at the High School and do Sixth Form.

In Canada grade 1-8 is elementary/primary school, and grade 9-12 is high school, then you have year 1-howeverlongyoutakeschool in college.

We have elementary which is usually k - 5 which is like kindergarten (thanks to the pesky German migrants in the north who brought beer ale and community) then after 6, 7, 8 is usually middle school years where you begin to realize that there are more people in the world than your 50 or so buddies in k - 5. then you goto highschool where you learn stuff. which is highschool 9 - 12. sometimes private schools have k - 12 all in one school or sometimes if you live in a really small small town you tend to have more home schooling.

kind of off topic but right now there is a real problem in japan regarding schooling, alot of women dont want to do the secks so alot of rural schools are closing down becuase they only have one fifth grade and etc. japanese still view babies as a hurt on their society... also if they continue on this path they will eventually destroy themselves because no cmmercial base.. I REST my case.

Senior year next month. Technically school won't really start for me since being a senior, I really don't have to do anything special to pass. And I've been on low burn since junior midterms.

I start Sept. 5th, if I remember correctly. Tomorrow is orientation. Gotta get to school around 8 to get my locker assigned, get my picture taken for my ID and get my class schedule. Boo!

I forget what day I start, but I've got orientation on the 28th. Apparently I have to have a laptop by then. Stupid college.

agh, organizing for school is a pain. I always spend like a week planning everything out, and within a month of school its disintegrated into a pile of a papers and a single overstuffed folder in my backpack D:

Anybody else's college doing cool events during the move-in period? Mine (Angelo State University) is having a bunch of dinners and social events (like free movies, pool party, etc.) during this upcoming weekend. I think it'll be pretty cool. I also have an orientation and BBQ party at the local lakehouse for ROTC.

My friend has hooked me up with a job already and I have the interview for it on Friday (the day I move in), even though he says I've basically already got it. Things are shaping up pretty well.

Yeah man, most colleges do that kind of stuff... UNC has a whole week of welcome thing with a lot of decent events.
