When do you think CS:S will past CS in number of players at the same time?

I don't think it will ever happen. You need a good pc to play CS:S and not all 12 year olds can get those. :|

it will happen once CS: S is installed on most users computers and CS will most likely fade into oblivion.

Maybe once they convert more maps and make new player models, and add some features that actually make gameplay more fun instead of just adding things that look pretty.

it will happen over time.
just not yet because of the reasons u gave.
plus.. when CPL decides to have a league for CS:Source, the popularity will pick up at that time.

Players on CS Source <= Players on CS 1.6

As long as DX7-level video cards are standard on factory-default PCs.

i think it will eventually happen but not anytime soon.

2010, when Hl3 is released with Counter Strike Sourced Yet Again!

it will take source at least 2 -3 years to over take 1.6, source looks good but it just ain't the same game ive been playing for the past 4 years so im sticking with 1.6

agreed. Inferno, train, nuke, assault, seige, militia, prodigy etc will make players play it.

it would help if the pysics were fixed, i mean, how many more times do i have to die because i cant walk over a bottle on the floor : /

remember christmas is comin up - loads of ppl will get HL2/Source then ;)

valve said we'd be getting de_prodigy plus a few others this month, so..

I would guess never because in a couple of years CS2 will be out, as they say on their site CSSource is not CS2 ;0) But hey i could be wrong

Then why don't you just move on. Why do CS players refuse to progess with the rest of the community? FFS, Counter-Strike was good but there are much greener pastures now. CS is dead, the fans just havn't caught on to the fact yet.

Not really. It's just that CS:S needs some more polishing to do before it replaces 1.6. Right now there are a lot of bugs (hostages are idiots, hitboxes need some fixing, etc.) and balance fixes (seems much easier to get headshots, grenades throw differently, smoke grenades aren't as useful since they don't completely smoke instantly, scout kills with chest shots) that need to be done. There are also those barrels and things that are just really, really annoying. It would be nice if physics were made more useful in gameplay.
I'm really enjoying CS:S but it doesn't really feel as fun as 1.6, and it could (and probably will) be better.

I think it will probably take place some time late next year. Today there are about 30K playing CS:S and 100K playing CS. I think after X-mas the amount of CS:S players will go up as people will either get the game or upgrade thier systems. I have found I can play CS:S on a range of lower end machines and it still does okay and even looks decent with the settings turned down.

I think after the "December update" a few more from regular CS may switch over as well. So yeah I think late next year.

css i think will turn into cs2 when css is complete they will probobly have a massive update adding new shit and make it unbeatable
