When does the preload start? i downt see it on my steam games menu anywhere.

When does the preload of hl2 ep1 start? i dont see it in my steam games menu.
 
What? You mean you don't play to load up Steam for the next 31 days and just start at the little Episode 1 icon in awe for hours and hours on end?!
 
I know, thats what im impatient about too.
 
Tsk. That'll spoil the whole game. I'd rather keep my eyes closed for the next few weeks.

You are right. If you want to spoil it for yourself, go ahead. Just don’t spoil it for us by posting the information on the forum.
 
just wait till tomorrow maybe itll be there by tomorrow. just go to sleep and forget about the excitement and anxiousment (dont think thats even a word but wth i dont give a darn) till tomorrow.
 
there's a big dip in the status bar... their probably uploading it. Got my credit card waiting :D

I wanted to buy it via Steam, but steam just poped up showing the box for the game, and yeah, I want the box. I need the box so badly.
 
could this be the first broken promise in valve newest creation? i know its nothing real big since i wont get to play it anyway, but are they waiting till its 11:59 so they can say it was done on the day they said it would be?

Comon mate. for one it actually doesnt matter if they realease the preload now or in a weeks time. You wont be able to play it for 31 days. the only promise they made was that it would be out on the 31st, they havnt broken that one yet.
 
i know its not that big of a deal, like i said in my post......i also never said they broke their promise, i know theres time, just seems odd that they said may 1st, but in 2 hours its may 2nd and nothing still.....
 
I wish they would at least tell us that they're going to delay it instead of just letting the deadline go by. They always do this. I guess the only thing we can count on Valve to do is make the best games... eventually.

They're probably just finishing up the Adrian Shepard model.
 
10 minutes left Valve. The available bandwidth is going crazy, it must be close.
 
cool, the download started at 69% for me, once again i should never doubt valve, though i do wish they put this out a few hours ago :) i still <3 em
 
wonder how much work they put into hl deathmatch source, im interested to see how it looks
 
If you read the caption in the steam store it says it comes with two multiplayer games, One is HL:Source DM obviously, is the other one HL2DM? It's just I don't remember them saying that buying Ep.1 will include HL2DM, I thought only HL2 owners got that.

The caption:
"Half-Life 2 has sold over 4 million copies worldwide, and earned over 35 Game of the Year Awards. Episode One is the first in a series of games that reveal the aftermath of Half-Life 2 and launch a journey beyond City 17. Also features two multiplayer games. Half-Life 2 not required."

Also it says "...a journey beyond City 17" Does that mean we are going to some new exotic location? Mad. :D

Perhaps I'm just speculating to much, I'm just excited. :p

i trust em, just not with dates :)
too bad, no gibs anymore in HLDM, its been replaced by the ragdolls :(
