When will HL2 go Gold?

Doesn't a game normally go gold about a month before the release date? So, shouldn't we hear it go gold within the next week or 2?

Sept 1 to 10 is the most realistic option. ECTS ends on the 29th August, and it'll prolly go gold a few days later. *fingers crossed*

If the game is still being released on the 30th of September, then it's reasonable to assume that the Gold Date will be the 13th of September. This is what Gamestar reported, a while ago and it sounds about right.

Also, I don't think all of the team will be at the Trade shows, probably just Gabe and a few others, it won't delay Half Life 2.

What are you basing that on? We have no idea how far they are with the game. They could be just have one or two bugs to work out or they could have 300.

I hope they announce when they go gold.

The Gold date is when the game is finished and goes off to be pressed, it's not when the game is released.
