I have been crashing while playing some games and even just sitting there. The problem always seems to be changing. I've reformatted and all that fun stuff. When it crashes i'll usually get a blue screen of death.

Would a flash help.

I have 2 vid cards so I don't know how I go about doing so.

any chance you could tell us that the bsod says, might be able to find a solution without flashing the video card bios because I think that some of the programs that you use aren't the most reliable and you could end up buggering up the card.

Well I have turned off the autorestart so when it happens again I can give everything that it says.

When it came up for the few seconds I think i saw nv_disp.dll or somthing starting with nv_
Thats why I though it was my video card.

edit: yeah, I just when to play CSS expecting it to happen... which it did.

Problem caused by nv4_disp.dll

If problems continue blah blah blah disable bios memory shadow/cacheing

stop: 0x000000050

so I think im gonna roll back to 78.05 from 81.84

What vesion of Windows are you running? Is it XP SP1 or SP2?

I've come across this before in SP1... I believe the error is something along the lines of "Page fault in non paged area". Apparently it's a conflict between SP1 and your video drivers.

Upgrading to SP2 should resolve the problem.

If this is all clear, you may also want to explore the possibilities of it being your system RAM, video RAM or HDD causing the problem.

EDIT: I believe there are utilities out there that does a check on your video RAM, but for the HDD and system RAM check out the Windows Memory Diagnostic (there's a link to it on www.microsoft.com/oca) and run chkdsk /r from your Windows XP command prompt (Start > Run > CMD > chkdsk /r).

I have sp2.

i rolled back and Havent had a problem yet. seems ok.
