I'm just curious where you guys get your HL2 files. I know about Fileplanet and Filefront (which I like better than Fileplanet in every way, shape and form - thank you, thank you), but I assume there are other popular sources that I'm just not aware of.

The reason I ask is because I just released a map on the two above websites, and am curious to know what other popular sources I should be aware of. I want to use the results to make a mapper/modder's guide on "where to upload your files".

I did a lot of research, but Google was particularly vague as to where to get good, all-around HL2 resources. I figured it would be best to ask what sites are actually used by real HL2 players.

Download gmod maps from filefront, other than that I rarely download things.

Fileplanet sucks, I hate it. You have to either pay to get fast access to downloads, or stay free and wait. And I get the impression the latter option is disappearing.

Thanks to FileFront, yes. At FileFront, you're already downloading a file 2 seconds after you realize it exists, at high speeds, with no wait, no ads, nothing. :)

Filefront. I do all my surfing at hl2files.com

some one just informed me of a site that kinda cool... it shows some noobs how to hack a little, but its got some cool new maps and sprays and stuff for lots games includeing hl2, Cs:S, hl2: dm, etc... its called fpsbnana.com but im not sure if you can upload stuff, i belive you can. I think all the content their is user uploaded

I forgot fps banana...certainly more fun stuff to download...
