Where is Black Mesa?

I mean, of course it's in New Mexico, but where? It couldn't be in the Black Mesa in Santa Fe, that isn't owned by the government, and if Blue Shift is to be taken as canon then it has to be on a New Mexico Railway line.

As someone who lives in New Mexico, I assume that Black Mesa is more or less a fictional take on Los Alamos National Laboratory, which would place it somewhere around Los Alamos, NM. Alternatively, there are quite a few actual summits named "Black Mesa," many of which are in New Mexico. Click here for that list, which includes specific coordinates for each one.

we know that the area around it is all desert, and that a river runs though/by the base.
