:flame: well, where is it? :flame:
I respected Valve when they came out of nowhere and produced this "game" that surpassed all expectations. Poor Activision and the buggy Sin (which is a great game once it's patched) had no idea the monster they were up against.
There was no partnership with ATI, there were no Dell representatives. All there was was a killer game that got released (deservedly) to critical accliam and was soon embraced by the gaming community as a whole.
Now...we have partnership with ATI, Dell is in the Mix. What happened to just putting out good software. Can the game not be promoted without ATI on it's banner? I believe when you start spreading yourself too thin, you are setting yourself up for a fall.
Overambitious? Steam...why do we need it? Why can't Valve just put out the game and let it sell like hotcakes. They don't need ATI's partnership to sell millions of copies...Dell doesn't need to be involved. Have Valve become a bunch of money grubbing whores?
Just think, if they would just focus on the damn game and not all this "extra" un-needed BS, then we would have it now.
I much prefer the hungry developer, to the multimedia giant. Quality is what is sacrificed and most definitely integrity. Blizzard never kissed ass and still puts out good games .
Why do you think they felt the need to have Steam and ATI and Dell in this? Greed, pure and simple. It's not enough to sell a great game, but everyone wants a piece. :bonce: :flame: :flame: :flame:
