Where's the 'Do-not-use-Outlook'-Thread???

Seriously, I always thought all those guys working in the gaming industry are the 'creme-de-la-creme' of hackers there can be! The Best, better than the rest! Their Servers are save. That's what I thought.

They don't only know how to prog they are way too smart to use something like OUTLOOK!!!

Now, after the worst nightmare (maximum cradible accident) came true this delay my break the companies neck. Vivendi surely had enough problems before that.

Everybody may blame those Crackers as much as they like to; Valve has to take some heat - and the rest of the industry is watching anxiously.

I already knew Outlook sucked as a mailprogram. That's why I've never used it in my life. The internet itself offers sufficient capabilities.

I can imagine there is a lot of panic going on at Valve right now. They created something so damn good, and did not deserve this.

Personally, I have nothing wrong with Outlook. Who is to say that this wouldnt have happened if they used a different mail program?

Nothing's wrong with Outlook.. Outlook Express, on the other hand.. the last time I used that, I got 30 nimdas the first time I logged on, ever since then, I've used Outlook 2002

That's exactly what I thought. In the end you have to admit that if they had used a real safe email app, they wouldn't have been that vulnerable. I'm using Eudora (www.eudora.com) and I never had any problems with viruses (as long as you turn off the Microsoft Previewer).

Why isn't Valve sueing Microsoft for producing absolutely insufficient software?

Getting via bugs in a email program into a foreign pc is a bit cheap, but they (or he, the hacker) didn't need to do anything more complicated because M$ opened the doors right away. ;(
