Which 8800GT do you have?

I need some help getting my 8800GT, basically I dont know what make to go for. Right now Im looking to get this one: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=692674

I know its a more expensive version of the 8800GT but it does come overclocked out of the box and so Im covered (i.e. I dont have to overclock it and worry about warranty)

The reason for this thread is are there better 8800GT packages/deals out there? I live in the UK by the way

Xfx is pretty good. Probably 2nd best pick because they do have a lifetime warranty and generally good factory OCs. EVGA's warranty covers OCing and power surges though. But EVGA's 8800GTs are hard to find in-stock atm or so I hear.

cant find the EVGA ones anywhere. Does it really matter which make it is? I have a SPARKLE 7600GT which has given me no problems at all

I just ordered an MSI one, but that was because it was a really good deal ($220 after tax, free shipping). Prices being equal, I'd recommend EVGA if you can get one.

I was unfortuante enough to get the eVGA 320Mb card. Very sleak on the optimal settings, but games are near enough impossible to play with the slightest difference in AA. It would of also been nice to see much more detailed textures and shaders as well

Can play Ep2 at 4xAA and Vsync without any problems though

Although reaing some reviews it gets very hot at full load, at 72C!! Is that really bad?

72C? Most high end cards over the past few years have been running about that or higher sometimes. That temp is fine for graphic cards. Loud fans on the other hand (most 8800gt's seem to have these or they stall) are bad. IMO

In some cases the MSI gets as hot as 90C!!! and the fan is really loud, think im gonna go for the Inno3D one and just overclock it when needs be

Fun fact: It is impossible to tell if a card has been software overclocked. This is assuming you didn't kill the chip or cause any physical damage obviously.

OK after doing some crazy searhcing on the net I am left with these options:

1. Get the Inno3D 8800GT and overclock it (if I need to)

2. Get the MSI OC edition from a place I have never heard from and trust them

3. Wait for the Zotac AMP! Edition (which could be next year!!)

All I want to do is play Crysis at 1024*768 on Hugh/Med settings with no AA

Where the hell did you get that one? The MSI is supposedly one of the best ones. :O I might be able to get a local store to order it for a similar price if I can show them it's being sold for that price online.

Me either before their 8800GT version, but it really is very good.

Oh and my BFG 8800GT OC2 doesn't jam at 28% fan speed, it increases proportionately thankfully, and it ran Half-life Lost Coast stress test at an average of 152 FPS, and it also blew TF2 out the water with top settings and motion blur. Amazing card for ?200
