Which antivirus are you using ? also which free ones are good ?

The safest Anti-Virus of all! Not Windows! Ah HA HA!
Fanboy alert. :dozey:

Sure, Linux and Mac is fine so long as one doesn't plan to game on it.

If I wasn't a gamer, I probably would switch to Linux, but then again, a Linux buff friend of mine told me that it doesn't support dial-up.
Our area ISP sucks balls and won't support Hi-speed in my area. Internet access is imperative for my classes, even if it is only lame dial-up.

I was being sarcastic with the fanboyishness bit, but seriously now, I dualboot because Linux offers me a better general experience, and I have trusty old XP for my TF2 needs.

Is it true Linux doesn't support dial-up? I though about dual-booting Linux at one time myself before I heard that it doesn't.

I wouldn't know which version to get anymore even if it did.

Thought about Fedora Core 5 at one time, but not sure which is the newest version nowadays, since that open-source stuff updates so quickly.

What the hell part of florida doesnt have high speed internet?

As far as I can tell, most/all linux distros support dial-up.

It's not so much Linux not supporting Dial-up it's that most Modems out there are very reliant on Windows to get them working. Google "winmodem linux" for a bunch of pages about getting them working under linux.

Pretty much anywhere that's rural. :p

Some rural counties have Wi-Max towers installed here and there to serve Hi-speed to said rural counties, but alas as I've stated, our local phone companies (Bellsouth and Embarq) suck majorly.

Cheap bastards. :p

BTW, my exact location in Florida is confidential. ;) Let's just say the further North of Florida you travel, the suckier everything gets. Unless it's Jacksonville or Orange Park of course.

Thanks. I'll have to look into doing some research on some winmodem linux tweaks then when I have some spare time. :)

There are no free antivirus softwares. Even the ones dubbed "free" come at a cost.

Your soul.

I've got AVG on my computer. It updates every time you put the computer on and it really works to stop viruses getting on you PC.

LOL @ BGthorn for taking Mr. Koroush Ghazi's of Tweakguides advice. Coincidence, no?
He's a great man and the one that recommended a-squared to me. :D
I had the other two AV programs already before ever reading the tweaking companion however.
You know it! God bless that Tweaking Companion. I'd donate so much to that site if I ever had the funds...

Uh,I installed AVG using all the advices in that guide and when I press update now it always shows a connection failed message.

EDIT: I downloaded directly from the site and used the "update from directory" feature, so I guess I've solved it.
