which graphics card should i get?

Which is the better choice, and why?

The 6800 because it has 12 pipelines (6600GT has 8) and a 256Bit memory bus (6600GT has 128Bit). Core speed is a tad slower but the other qualities are far more important. Not to mention you can always OC and have a really speedy beast for cheap!

Although the MSI 6600GT has VIVO...

Thanks for the speedy reply. I have another question, though. How easy is it to unlock the extra pipelines? Can you fry the card by doing this?

Fry the card? No, not by flashing the bios. If you have to do any hardware modification then there is a chance.

Quoted for truth. I'd still go with the 6800. VIVO is nice to have but not an essential.
