I'm not quite sure what they do, but I know that the lines look a hell of a lot more smooth with AA set on but what does AF do? And which effects your FPS more? Thanks.

In CS:S, for some reason, AF hammers my performance compared to FSAA.

AF reduces texture blurring, best way I can describe it.

Like wall textures mostly or on the player also? It seems like AA effects my FPS more btw but I'm not 100% on this.

It reduces the blurriness on textures other than players.. uhm, I'm sure someone will drop by with a better description, my brain isn't working right now.

Normally AA does. I don't have my FPS shown onscreen because as long as I think the framerate is acceptable it's fine, even if it's like 20 FPS. Ignorance is bliss. So I'm not sure exactly what the difference in performance hit is.

Thanks Shuzer, that answers my question. I'm just trying to tweak it as much as I can to get more FPS. sitting pretty at around 50-70 right now. Oh and how do you make an autoexec.cfg? do you just make a .txt file and name it "autoexec.cfg" and type console commands in it as though you were typing them into console? Or is there another trick or something? Thanks for your time.
