Which is better...

get the S939 and 3200+ 90nm and you can OC it to 2.5 ghz on stock HSF easily. I have mine at 2.8 ghz

Socket 754 CPUs are Single channel while Socket 939 CPUs are dual channel. It does not make a huge difference although it is there.

Socket 754 CPUs are clocked higher than the Socket 939 CPUs with the same Performance ratings because Socket 939 has Dual Channel memory which can make up the difference depending on the application.

If you want to upgrade to a higher-end Athlon 64 in a few years, Socket 939 is your best choice. Also, 90nm CPUs are only available for Socket 939 (3000+, 3200+, 3500+). 90nm Athlon 64's run a little cooler, allow for better OCing and have a few minor memory controller improvements.

Either would be good but it's up to you if you want to spend the extra money.

Well, thats the thing. I am on a budget. I am only going to be able to spend around $800 on my computer so unless I can find a very cheap socket 939 mobo and an AMD +3400 for under $350 altogether then I will buy it, but I think I am going to stick with my choice at the moment.

Heh.....you can find 3200+ for $200 and currently the best S939 mobo for $140 (Neo2 Platinum)
